The problem with planetside...

As most of you all know, planetside is dying; compared to how many players they had back when the game first came out. Yes maybe they got 3000 new players in the past couple weeks as someone said, but overall the population is decreasing. Now why is this so? Why did they make such an awesome game then most people decided to leave? I do not believe it was because of CC, they allow you to ignore CC all together, it’s a whole new area and you don’t have to be apart of it at all. CC did not add any over powered vehicles or weapons that would make people dislike the game. So what was it then? This is what I believe.

1. It is too expensive for a MMOFPS, they charge 13 bucks a month, when games like counter strike and America’s army have no monthly payments, and you only have to pay 50 for counter strike. SoE needs to make this game about 7 dollars a month. Then new players or old will pick this game up, if they like it, they might even try other SoE games and will upgrade to all access pass. Then SoE will start to make some money.

2. Not a lot of new armor and weapons. A lot of players in PS prefer infantry over vehicles, I am one of them. So I do not see why SoE is not making new weapons and armor for its players. A lot of people are leaving this game because of what the BFRs have done, so why don’t they make a weapon that can take down a BFR fairly easily? I don’t mean a vehicle, I mean an infantry weapon. Also new armor would be nice; they limit the selection down to agile, rexo, stealth, and max units. It would be nice to see some new armor so players can customize their play style according to their armor and weapons.

3. Areas look very similar. Why did they have to make so many of the facilities so similar? Every map is set up almost the same way. I don’t really want to see the same facilities over and over again even if I am in the jungle areas, or artic. They should change the architecture according to the type of climate.

4. Repetitive. Your goals are always the same, capture or defend your facility. Now I realize most all fps's are very repetitive and have the same goals, but that does not mean PS has to be this way. They need to make more ways to capture a facility or other ways to achieve victory.

5. Music. I know this sounds funny, but I find the music to be very boring or depressing. For a fps they need to have music that will excite you, I think most people including me use their own music which is perfectly fine, but I think having a better music selection in planetside would be nice.


I think this game has the potential to be awesome. It just needs some refinements. I heard that PS got a new owner, correct me if I am wrong, but it will be nice to see if he can put planetside in the right direction.

    i aggre with most of what you said the few diffreces are
    CC (COre combat) is WHY i left. Expanions are soposed to give more content to seoned players and it sould also bring in new players. when thy wanted to chage full price for an expation it turned me off.

    and one thing i think you missed was the game was more of less point less you could spend all night when trying to take a contanent and wake up the next day to fined when you loged everything was lossed.

    it was/is a desent game with a bad implamentaion ::::16::
    i hope it 1) gets fixed (probly too late for that) 2) some one fixes the problems and comes out with a better one.

    Ahhh good ole Planetside.. This used to be the game of games..."used to be" being the  key phrase here...

    Im going to list my reasons why Planetside whet down the drain taking with it chunks of the player base..

    I started this game around Aug of 2003 back when they had around 5 severs  Johari, Kondried, Markov, Emerald, and that other server :P   Now to my reasons why the game went to hell

    1.  Core Combat (aka Core Comcrap) I cant believe what the hell they gave us here.. Sure there were some nice additions like the spiker, modules, and  the maelstrom.. But the actual place was horribly done... All those stupid zip lines everywhere it was a freaking stupid maze it was about 2 weeks after the luanch of CC that people just abandoned that place and it became pretty much empty...And it brought probably the 2nd worst wpn behind the BFR's ofcourse.. THE FLAIL aka (the Noob Cannon) skilless people loved this thing since it didnt require any of that to kill with it.. This was just the devs way of helping those who whinned about not being able to kill anything... Horrible addon to the game, plain and simple.

    2. Surge nerf, yup thats right instead of fixing there cheesy code which could not handle people surging inside and made them appear to warp all over the screen.. They decided to nerf surge by making it so that you could not run while you wpn was out.... Alot of people hated it some loved this decesion.. None the less they should have left this alone, they opened up a can of worms with this one.

    3.  Prior to Chirsmass of 03 the devs tried several "peformance enhancing" patches... Needless to say they failed horribly people were complaining and leaving left and right....That lasted all the way up into about February of 04.. They actually had a decent patch going during Christmass itsself that included the Santa hats.. Things were pretty good for a min there, then they patched agian and bam.. People were crashing, having inventory and door lag left and right.

    4. Recertifacation (spelling) change.. This was good in some ways cause it made things like the ams, sunderer, dellverer easier to pickup since they were combined with other vehicles... But it also was another noob buff since it let people cert all the max suits with only 5 certs..Maxes were everywhere it was horrible...This was really the begining of the end of the infantry wars.. Combine that with easier assess to Tanks the idiot devs combining the Reaver and the mossy to only use 4 certs and it soon became spam side... And the grunts were the spam, Tanks and REAVERS where everywhere... Just another move by the devs to take the skill from the game, and help the skilless ones.

    5. Decimater nerf to maxes.. This would have been good if it were not for this one problem... Unimax which only cost 5 certs... Nefing the deci to maxes was a great Idea if Maxes were not so damn common now cause of the UNIMAX cert... But since there were everywhere and every noob and his mom had one when this was just terrible.. ANd yet another attempt by the devs to help the skilless ones survive agianst more skilled players.

    6.  Broadcast warpgates and Teh Bending... This brought us the new map and took away one of my favorite conts.. Oshur..and left those Battle Islands...Dont get me wrong the Islands were ok but damn why Oshur why not freaking Esamir or Cery....But they didnt just stop there they took away 2 home conts from each faction... This was a huge mistake  it made every side only have 1 cont and thanks to Broadcast Warpgates it made way to easy to defend that 1 cont... Eventually those 3 home conts rarely were fought over, instead it became the same 2 or 3 non-home conts night after night....I really started to miss fighting on Ishunder, Amerish, and Forseral like we did back in the good ole days prior to BW's and Teh Bending....... Damn you SOE...

    7. And last but not least the Ultimate slap in the face to the skilled players and the Official arival of SKILLESS SIDE... BFR's...... The most foolish choice by any Dev team that I have ever seen.. And the number of players that left show that.... What a stupid and horrible addition to a First PERSON shooter game... If I wanted to play Mech Warrior I would have gone out and bought it..I just dont know what they were thinking on that one...Being Fired would have been to kind for this Dev team.. I think they should be locked up in a room with a few hundred of us old schoolers for killing the game we loved so freaking much..

     

    And that is my time line of the decline of this game.. Sadly it seems to happen alot in the genre... *cough* Anarchy Online

    I tought population was back to PS since late last year (last patch with bfr nerf + "guerilla marketing" thing) ?? Heard pop lock were back on every server too.

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure you are way off base here. Now I didn't read your entire post, thanks for breaking it up into sections by the way, so I am only going to comment on the quote above.

    I'm fairly certain that they "nerfed" Surge because it was being abused by the player base and not because of coding issues. People would Surge, while firing, and basically eliminate several people with one fail swoop of the index finger. They now removed the ability to fire a weapon while Surging and effectively taking away this unintended "exploit." So the Surge nerf had NOTHING to do with the first sentence of the quote above, but was rather driven by what both you and I said. It was an exploit, the skill was never intended to be used that way, so the exploit was fixed.

    2. Planetside vehicles and weapons are fine, they just introd bfr's too which adds to gameplay.

    3. All continents are different. The dev's have planned to redesign bases.

    4. This aint evercrack, ever heard what FPS means? FIRST PERSON SHOOTER.

    5. Music is great, you also have the option to turn it off, however It's still good after a year of playing.

    Planetside is a great game according to over 20,000 players. People like yourself is what makes people not even look at these games or try them. Stop your bitching and go play evercrack, the game that everyone has been bitching about.

    speaking of trolls, none of your clever responses are backed by fact. Nice retort, you are cheap, you r teh dumb go play evercrack. The only troll here is you Zentox. If PS was truely as healthy as you claim, you wouldn't be so offended by one persons observations. The overzealous response you give only adds to the validity that PS is losing its player base.

    Fact is I played since closed through release and for over a year and while the intial poster is basing everything on opinion at least he was trying to be fair in his judgement.

    I enjoyed PS, I think it is a good game. The main problem with PS in my opinion is similar to what someone else said. The war was pointless. You could fight all night for a cont. just to have it recapped by morninig. The battle moves too fast. With each patch and addition there is less and less strategy in the game. I think I would have stayed longer if the battle moved a little slower. If it was more challenging to take and hold ground, I think I would still be playing the game. With each new addition to the game (BFR's, CC, etc) the battles become more and more pointless. I really enjoyed the early days when a single battle would rage for hours at a time.

    But alas, I am sure that you will call me a troll and tell me that I r n00b.

    F-P-S = FIRST PERSON SHOOTER, There no god damn quests for you to kill bunnies in. Stop rating it like an RPG. IT's the first mmofps and its the best one out there. Don't discourage a game to new players if you havn't played for two years, the game has changed greatly and has even appeared on top rated on this site. Go blow off your negativity somewhere else, nobody gives a s**t what you say anyways. We call these people forum trolls, and whiners, bitchers, and moaners. Enough of it.

    Please translate your repsonse into something that makes sense. I never mentioned quests, so I have no idea why you bring that up, unless ofcourse the lack of quests is upsetting you.

    Its not the first MMOFPS in fact WWIIonline has been around longer and technically its an FPS or twitch game. You have never heard of it, because it requires skill.

    Your previous post stated that you have been playing for a year and now you claim 2 years. Fact is you haven't been playing for two years, so you should take your own advice.

    Posts like this aren't what's killing the community. Its inability of the developers to listen to the community that has hurt the game. But, ofcourse, if you have been playing for 2 years you would know this. The majority of the community was against BFR's, the community was very upset with CC. In fact, the community has been complaining for a long time that rather than give them what they want, SOE keeps adding crap no one wants.

    Apparently you are confused. Stop posting like you know somthing. Stop bashing someones opinion because its different than yours.

    Obviously, you are a smartass that always needs the last word. The intro of bfr's has brought many new players to the Planetside community. This is a proven fact. Now don't base your opinions just by serfing through forums and looking at other's opinions. Just shutup and go kill some bunnies.

    The developers have reached out and are listening to the community, and technically people did ask for BFR's. New vehicles, bases, designs, weapons are here to come. Obviously you are one of those trial noobs that is too cheap to play the game to explore what it really is and how to play. You have obviously not looked at the Planetside forums recently, Dev's are taking the initiative. And I hope you know that new concepts and ideas are very hard to make. Dev's have to maintain the game, make sure the code is right, work out the bugs, moniter in game activity, etc. This has also been an issue between everquest2 which Sony has turned more focus on, instead of PS. They can't just make an expansion as you please. Now quit trolling and figure out what the hell is going on before you state a bias opinion.

    PS is a good game, I play it like it. I agree that the war is pointless. They really neglected some aspects to online games needs. The biggist problem is the coammand and control system. Global spam is ridiculous, and last thing I wanna read in global spam is sexual comments about human anatomy. There's no accountability. If you get bad cr5's and they all think they are great, then your whole empire is screwed.

    There are other games out there that would be better then planetside if it wasn't for the graphics. WWII online has some of the best game play, best command and controll system I've seen, even real aspects of strategy such as supply lines, production. The only real set back is the graphics are so behind it sometimes makes the game very hard to play. You can get past it, but they neglect some real fun aspects of FPS games by everything ingame being such bad graphics.

    if you look closely you will see the =C22= logo flash by and if you truely have been playing for 2 years, you would know that =C22= has long been one of the most respected Outfits in Planetside. First on Konried and then after the merger with Emerald. But, wait I am a 7 day trial noob with an outfit of 100+ members. The point of my post was simple. You are an asshat. You bashed somebodys elses opinion for no reason.     So now it has come to bragging. I have 2 cr5 accounts and I have been in the most organized outfits on emerald. C22 is no longer a force to be reckoned with. It never was really. Enclave, TRx, FS, Ao1, GOTR have more of a reputation then you. Even band of bros has a bigger rep than c22. The problem with c22 is it failed to a crisp after about a month when they decided to go vanu. You come to last stand conclusions about how i am an asshat, if so why do you reply to these postings. BECAUSE YOU ARE SENSITIVE BITCH. You fail at life and you know it, we all know it. Planetside is one of the best games SOE has to offer, and it always will. Now go kill some bunnies and stfu.

Say what you will about C22, your only retort to thier rep is to name Outfits that you aren't even in. Seriously only 2 cr5's in 2 years of playing ? wow thats like 2-3 months of work at most. You really need to select better things to brag about.

    Whats even more hilarious is the fact that I never said it was a bad game. I simply stated that it could be better. Though your continued attacks on my personal life are funny they continue to lack any real effort. Is this how you play PS ? with half assed effort or are you just a half assed individual. Hey and look at it this way, you are giving a great account of yourself. Forget what the initial poster wrote, your representation of your community speaks volumes for the kind of quality individuals to be found in PS.

    LOL I love it when the new skilless ones who werent even around during the begining of this game try to post on stuff they have no clue about... Being able to fire and surge at the same time was not a "Exploit" Nooby.. It was intended...Peoples complaints where not the fact that people could surge and shoot noobly (I should know I was around during that time) it was the fact that they WARPED All oVER the FREAKING Screen..... most of us didnt mind since hell everyone did it therefore HOW IS THAT A EXPLOIT.... But the little skilless noobs used to complain since the more skilled players were able to take loads of them out since well they were with out skill...

     

    Bottom line is that SOE gave into the skilless ones since the leet players like RavenX, Screempillar, Mangledbabylegs, Chaves, G0djoey (real punk but still good), OrgeX, Xenoproc, Dreamer, GeneralGrievous, TKJ, ect were murdering them in drones... They decided to help you little skilless ones out by making the game more noob friendly and giving you "Cant miss mass murder wpns" like the flail and BFR's...

     

    By the way noobly answer this one question when was the game released and when was surged nerfed... Here is a hint, there were about 25 patches in between.. Funny how they kept forgetting to fix the "SURGE EXPLOIT" as you call it.......

    I subscribed to PS from day 1, God I loved it !

    At that time the game was great. The main reasons were I think

    1/ the number of simultaneous players

    2/ the fact most of the players were low skilled.

    The second point means that not everybody was having the same certs. Some sacrified all their certs for heavy assault while others relied on AV etc...  The Outfits were strategically unskilled so any base capture was different.

    After a year we got full certed players, everybody seamlessly swithching between MAXs, Heavy Assault, AV, Tank driver.... So people relied on the best fitting, therefore you were always fighting the same type of opponents from Jackbunnies to Lasherwh0res. And what about strategy, the game has been reduced to a huge neverending zerg because it appeared to be the most efficient tactic, base captures were always the same ... capturing the tower.... controlling/destroying the spawn room.... capturing the base... move to the next base and loop.

    Okay SOE tried to change the stuff with the LLUs, the Capitols... But what improvements got the game since its release ? I was expecting regular updates and new content, poor me...

    We had to pay an expansion to get access to empty caves, 3 new nerfed to death weapons and 3 new vehicles (4 if you had the BFRs). From the basic game, not a single f**** weapon has been added since the beginning. The vehicles ? Well I count only 3 : the lib, the skyguard and lodestar. The rest are a bunch of unimaniginative redesign of existing vehicles... "Well lets see if we put a rocket launcher instead of guns on that one....".

    I visited their website a couple of weeks ago. I quitted almost a year ago, I took a look at the "in dev","in concept" pages, OMG these are almost the same texts I was reading a year ago ! A year out of Planetside, 160$ saved and what did I miss since then ? The BFRs ? image

    The game became boring to death, always the same weapons, the same vehicles, the same tactics, the same zergs, the same gameplay, day after day. But if you enjoy paying 13$ for this kind of game because you have 2 cr5 and can do your little boss giving orders... I find it expansive to just take care of your ego.

    Ahh now I get ya. Thats not lag. To play planetside properly u need a gig of ram and a decent graphics card.

    First thing I invested in,. Plays fine now.

    yeah my old pc was 512 ram, and a geforce4 ti4200

    this one i biult has 1 gig ram and a 6600gt.

    but seriously it is lag, i tried the game with all the settings low and lower res and it still had horrible lag. at the time i had a 5mb down 800k up connection..

    i would try it on this pc if they had a free trial again.. although i woudent play it really its not very fun anymore. my dude is br13 cr2. wonder if i can sell em on ebay like other games.. lol

    This is a fallacy to the extreme. Unless its free it won't get the CS/BF1942 crowd. It's because they dont' understand the difference on renting a 16 player server and running around a tiny map vs. a server farm for a large world. The former's about $22/month, the latter's several dozen thousand a month. They don't see the additional cost and benefit so just will never pay.


    2. Not a lot of new armor and weapons. A lot of players in PS prefer infantry over vehicles, I am one of them. So I do not see why SoE is not making new weapons and armor for its players.

    Because PS went to a skeleton coding crew that doesn't have time to do much more than fix bugs and rebalance what they've got.


    3. Areas look very similar. Why did they have to make so many of the facilities so similar? Every map is set up almost the same way. I don’t really want to see the same facilities over and over again even if I am in the jungle areas, or artic. They should change the architecture according to the type of climate..

    Something they have been promising for years and have yet to deliver. See above as to why it remains a promise.


    4. Repetitive. Your goals are always the same, capture or defend your facility. Now I realize most all fps's are very repetitive and have the same goals, but that does not mean PS has to be this way. They need to make more ways to capture a facility or other ways to achieve victory.

    Actually the repetativeness isn't from capping the same bases over and over. The problem is there's no reason to hold it and it is too easy for people to sneak around and back-hack or solo hack. There's simply no sense of acomplishment for actually taking a base or continent when 15m later it's gone. It would be much better if getting from base to base was harder. If there were actuall lines of battle. But there isn't. Part of that is because commanders don't think outside the box. It is rare to find a commander who will actually draw a path to take instead of "let's go there."


    5. Music. I know this sounds funny, but I find the music to be very boring or depressing. For a fps they need to have music that will excite you, I think most people including me use their own music which is perfectly fine, but I think having a better music selection in planetside would be nice.

    Meh, turn the music off. Music gets in the way of situational awareness.

    And it brought probably the 2nd worst wpn behind the BFR's ofcourse.. THE FLAIL aka (the Noob Cannon) skilless people loved this thing since it didnt require any of that to kill with it.. This was just the devs way of helping those who whinned about not being able to kill anything... Horrible addon to the game, plain and simple.

    Nah, the Flail's fine. PS needed a supression weapon to mix things up. Let the newbs spew shots and spam their own side for all I care. The flail is weak to skeeters, reavers, AV lightnings, MAXes and AV infantry. I never had a problem being on either side, or in a flail. The big problem was that PS doesn't give people a way to abandon a base which is getting hammered. That pissed me off to no end.

    No, the problem with Core Combat is that for well over a year the product manager decided that every release of PS would attempt to force people into CC. SOE just couldn't let it go. If they had half a brain they would have credited everyone who bought CC their purchase price, opened it to everyone and left it at that. Nope.

    CC started off with a the vehicles and weapons and mods. The mods, when installed, would effect one base. The caverns were empty. Ok, close 2 of the caverns. Still empty. Ok, make it so the weapons are rechargable outside the caverns. Still empty. Mods impart their benefits across the lattice. Still empty. Mods impart their benefits across the lattice and a lock cavern gives you all benefits! Still empty. They did everything short of closing down the real continents to drive people into the Core. The final move, right before I quit, were the BFRs. Was there any doubt that they would require people to go into the Caverns? I'm betting they're still empty.


    2. Surge nerf, yup thats right instead of fixing there cheesy code which could not handle people surging inside and made them appear to warp all over the screen.. They decided to nerf surge by making it so that you could not run while you wpn was out.... Alot of people hated it some loved this decesion.. None the less they should have left this alone, they opened up a can of worms with this one.

    It is a balance decision that should have been made years prior. Surge was never intended to be a combat implant. It was a combat avoidance implant. They let the surgiles go far too long which deeply hampered the higher armors.


    4. Recertifacation (spelling) change..

    This was a good change. It got people moving in units more. The spam really never increased because along with the higher level of reavers came a higher level of AA MAXes. Trust me as a Reaver pilot pre and post recert there really was a huge difference. Pre a reaver stood a chance near a tower or a base in a moderate (2+ squads on each side) conflict. Post, a Reaver would have to do some serious scrambling just to land 1-2 rockets.

    The problem with reaver spam is the design of the reaver, not the fact that lots of people could fly it. The guns have no convergance so 50% will always miss infantry. It is simply more efficient to load out with rockets and let the splash damage do the work.


    But it also was another noob buff since it let people cert all the max suits with only 5 certs..Maxes were everywhere it was horrible...This was really the begining of the end of the infantry wars..

    MAXes needed the boost. MAXes are supposed to be specialized combat suits. Instead they were being outshined by infantry. Probably still are. A base full of MAXes is actually easier to deal with than a base full of infantry.


    Combine that with easier assess to Tanks the idiot devs combining the Reaver and the mossy to only use 4 certs and it soon became spam side... And the grunts were the spam, Tanks and REAVERS where everywhere... Just another move by the devs to take the skill from the game, and help the skilless ones.

    One would say that it takes still to be an infantry. When I left (just prior to BFRs and well after the recert) infantry still made up the bulk of any force.


    6. Broadcast warpgates and Teh Bending...

    Yup, stupidest move they ever made was the broadcast gates. See my mention above about no sense of acomplishment and no battle-lines? That was a problem before broadcast gates and the gates only made it 10 times worse. SOE was dumbing it down to appeal to the CS/BF1942 crowd who want instant action NOWNOWNOWNOWNOW. Completely the wrong way to go since they cannot complete for that crowd without giving the game away for free.


    And that is my time line of the decline of this game.. Sadly it seems to happen alot in the genre... *cough* Anarchy Online

    You're also forgetting the lack of serious improvements to the game by and large. While other MMOGs show a ton of basic improvements PS has had none of that. Even it's predecessor, WWIIOL, has had more improvements than PS has though WWIIOL has it's own problems which I won't get into here.

    PS's main problem is that it attracted the crowd who were tired of DM, CTF and the other bolt-on modes for DM. It isn't that they were making things easy for "the skillless" they were dumbing down that concept where the combat served the larger battle instead of the larger battle just being a vehicle to vary the combat slightly. Instead of making it easier to capture things they should have made it harder so it was easier to hold things.

    They should not have gone 6 months without redesigning the bases so each was unique. They should have made sensible changes to the bases like giving a way to get to the bunkers from inside the base instead of leaving them as useless buildings on the outside. This should come as no surprise, however. I mean PS is the brainchild of the people who brought us Tribes and Tribes 2. Those, too, were games that pushed the boundries but suffered from the same problem. Here, let me explain.

    Ok, you're a military commander. Your objective is to nab some object from your opponent while simultaniously preventing your enemy from snagging an object from you. Clearly the most sensible thing to do is place that object in the least defensible position so that any infantry with a jetpack and a booster can swoop in nab it and be gone in about 2 seconds. In short in Tribes and Tribes 2 on most maps the concept of defense boiled down to "chase after the flag carrier" as there was no reasonable way to prevent the flag from being taken.

    Now, hop to Planetside. You're a military commander and you have to design a base for defense. So you're going to place bunkers outside the walls which are not accessible from inside the walls thereby forcing your troops to expose themselves to get into those deathtraps since they provide no cover at all. Then we're going to have gates... with no doors so vehicles can just waltz in. Remember, this is prioer to Core Combat and the gate shields. On top of that on 2 of the designs you're going to put senstive part up top where a quick drop from a single Gal can take it out (Tech, CC is on top. Bio(?), Gen is on top. One other has CC on top). On two of them you're going to make it so your troops are exposed to outside fire to retake/repair the exposed sensitive area.

    D'ya see the problem here? Defense, like in Tribes, is an after thought. Makes it ok to be on the offense but crappy to be on defense so there's no sense in even trying to defend on some days.

    They should have looked at the design of the Reaver and fixed it so it was sensible for what people expected. Yet here we are years later and rockets which should be for vehicles are neigh useless outside anti-infantry and the guns are the vehicle killers.

    There have been a ton of interface suggestions made, none implemented, many of them extremely sensible.

    Above all they should have expanded the powers and responsibilities of the command ranks. They should have limited command powers to those actually commanding and CR being a positive and negative flow. YES, if you lose, you lose rank. That would weed out the bad CR5s and let the true leaders who are willing and capable of leading to do so without spam from the idiots who just coasted their way to CR5. There should be ways for the commanders to force the zerg to go where they want. I've seen conts lost because the zerg wouldn't give up a hopeless fight at a base. They were crowing that they held the base for 3 hours. Yeah, and they lost the 6 other bases they had on the cont they had near locked. PS has no accountability for stupidity and poor tactical choices. It should reward those who make good ones and punish those who do not. Plain and simple.

    But PS is a typical SOE venture along the lines of SWG and EQ2. Released too early and then not given enough manpower to fix the problems in a resonable amount of time. They foist expansions on their customers who should be demanding such expansions for free for the broken promises and slow fixes they put up with.

    PS was an excellent idea. The problem is they took it half-way and then backed off to make another glorified deathmatch.

    Not just another pretty color.
