Is it just me, or does the Goblin starter area seem slow and boring?

I made my first goblin yesterday. Damn he only level 5, before I logged last night. I made it off the first island. So boring. I am playing a rogue. only 2 combat abilities so far. I though Blizzard wanted to improve leveling for starter players. I am just posting my view on the situation. IMO Blizzard should add more gameplay features to the new Worgen and Goblin starter zones. They feel empty, slow, and boring. I want a option to skip that if possible.

I totally agree, goblin starting area is slower than any other regular starting area (not sure about worgen). Plus you cant queue for battlegrounds untill you are out of the starting area. I do perfer goblins for their rocket jump ability but its a pain to go by that starting area everytime.

Wish it was just boring but entire game consist of the same thing all the time. Constant grinding of the exact same thing day in and day out.

Apparently, the idiots at blizzard have taken their players at face value. Since they have a bigger population then most online games, they feel it doesn't matter what garbage they put out as players will always stay on that game.

How wrong they are.  According to statistic, over half a million players have already left and many more will follow them once a certain game from BioWare comes out soon.

    Can't wait!

It's because you have no freedom to go where you wish, and are forced to do the quests in the order they appear.

basically everything that makes the "new wow" boring: lack of freedom.

    My addiction History:
    >> EQ1 2000-2004 - Shaman/Bard/Wizard/Monk - nolife raid-whore
    >> WoW 2004-2009 + Cataclysm for 2 months - hardcore casual
    >> Current status : done with MMO, too old for that crap.

I was hoping for a 'skip intro and level up in Durotar' option so I could be closer to the masses but it was never added. :(

It's not just you... and it's not just goblins, it's the whole game... It's just boring now...

You've had a good run WoW, bring on World of Starcraft!

Personally, I found the Goblin starting area awesome, and from that point on strove to do as much goblin-related content as I possibly could. I found the leveling path to be hilarious and addictive the entire way through as a result.

You can´t say anything in here without the trolls jumping in. ´omg..the whole game is boring´...

Honestly, the first 5 levels of the goblin area is the worst in the game.  I think the reason being is it is just too gimmicky... most of the quests you don´t feel like you are playing a class at all because you rarely use class abilities.   Once you get off the starter island and onto the bigger island, it feels a little better.

Also the ´cannot leave´ thing is pyschologically annoying.  On my first goblin, I would not have left the island until the quests were done anyway... but knowing that I could not leave  rubbed me somehow (same with Worgen).

But really, to me, it was just there were too many gimmicky quests.

When I tried it I found it to be better than the blood elf but on par with all of the other ones.

It's you.  I liked the Goblin Starter area.  Liked the Worgen area to, just not as much.  Both races starting zones are hands above the BE and Dranei starting zones though.

You want to talk boring, Dranei starting zone and islands for leveling to 20...ugh, horrible.

Whole game isn't boring, but people become bored with the whole game.  Coincidence that i see Blizzard advertising everywhere recently? Even on this site? People are getting bored, not that the game is boring, but again people are becoming fatigued with it. People say things from their perspectives, which when put into text can make it confusing.

Anyways, if i had to rank all the races starting areas from level 1-10 Goblins would be in the top 5 for me.  If the Goblin area was my first experience with Warcraft right after DAoC i would of been amazed at the detail and level of interaction Blizzard accomplished with their quests, especially when compared to DAoC.

But, I do agree, goblin starter area is boring. But for me, i identify it as a bordom of the game, of being burned out, fatigued, whatever with the game. And not a lack of quality with the creation of that area.

I like the Tauren area the best, just because of the landscape.  The quests are typical of WOW, and I guess one of the reasons it is my favorite rather than the gimmicky goblin starting zone.  Kinda the same as Nagrand.. even though there are a lot of ´kill 20s´.. the landscape make it relaxing to play.

I think the goblin starting area was pretty neat. It's rather diverse (city, island, volcano, mines), got some toys to play with (car, shark, controlling thralls tornado thing, a plane), and a decent storyline.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

I thought the worgen starting area was great, but the goblin area is just too boring.  I didn't get out of the first area.

It would be boring if you are of the mind that you are tying to get to max level asap and not bothering to read the quests and get a bit immersed (wowmaxlevelmustgettoraidingdisorder).  It was one of the better new zones imo.

edit lol yup as suspected  just read op post again, how exactly is a zone 'slow' :P

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

I like the Goblin starting area. It doesn't give you immeadiate optional access to the capital cities like the others do (except Worgen) but still I think of all the races this has been the funnest starting area I played through. It was easily the funniest I've played through with maybe the exception of the psychotic  re-done Hilsbrad. But to each their own. It's too bad so many of you have dismissed it out-of-hand. You really have missed out.
