I would first go back and enjoy DAoC the way it was when it first opened. Then I would just stop it in 2003 and keep playing pre cu SWG (when the servers were full of players) and stay a Creature Handler instead of unlocking my jedi slot (zzz). I also would remember never ever sell my nightsister biceps ever again heh..
This is a better version of the 'if you have 30 days to live what MMO would you play?' thread, because I don't think that there'd be anyone who would waste his precious 30 remaining days with playing an MMORPG.
So, the situation is, what if you're sick or recovering which leaves you unable to move much and leave the house, but you'd have access to a computer and, hey, whaddaya know, you also have a time machine
What MMO would you play, under the restriction that you could go back to any year in the past but only 3 years in the future (the future is fickle)?
And if you chose an MMO from the future as 1st choice, what MMO from the past would you choose as 2nd choice and what year?
The general problem with this is a few.
I would be able to play for 30 days, use the time machine to go back and start the 30 days over again.

playing an MMORPG?"
I'd use my time machine to prevent 9/11 and have sexual relations with hot 80's chicks. I'd also use it to gain wealth but then get stopped by Jean Claude Van Damme
For the future, I'd absolutely fast forward to GW2's release date.
If I could go back in time and erase my memory of all MMO experience I've since acquired, I'd like to try UO. Other than that, I'd totally relive my original WoW experience (again, my memory would have to be erased to get the same "first time" experience). I never felt so completely immersed in a virtual world as I did when I first tried WoW.
Lawdy, anyone who would use a time machine to revisit a video game probably needs to readjust their priorities. If I had a time machine, I'd like to kick it Dr. Who style (and find some way to live forever), and visit the most important historical events of our world. If I absolutely HAD to play an MMO during that time, like to save the lives of mankind or something else as equally kick ass, it would probably be UO pre-Trammel.

Well first off I would go back to 1997 and invest in Enron and a few other companies and pull out before the market crashes then I would create my own company and make my own mmo and release 3 months before WoW and kill it before it becomes the bigest threat to gaming ever. I would also release all the tablets and net books and the iPod touch before apple then buy out microsoft and require all programs desighned for windows to be released in the US first I would also cripple Korean development of MMOs requireing them to 20 popular games on a console before they can launch a windows gameing campain pluss I would force in a claus that all programs that are made to run on windows are owned by my company and that the developer must pay me 10 cents per unit sold making me the most powerful man in the world (oh and I would stop 9/11 from happening in some covert op)
Future - I'd try both The Secret World and Guild Wars 2. Probably Archeage too if I had time. I'd want to go back into the past after playing them couple of days though. Would want to know if they are worth playing.
Past - None, I can play most of those MMOs now. Well, maybe MMOs I've previously played like Everquest just to say "Hello" to some of my former guildmates.

Lol, you may want to play Day 120 or so. I remember on Day 7 all my shit getting deleted. And you could even "hologrind" till several months into SWG. It was truely a horrible game that had some great ideas.
On subject, Probably would go back and play EQ1 around 2000 era. Best times ever!

I would skip forward a few months, blow up the time machine (there is no way back!) and play The Secret World.
I would go back to mid 2005 and play World of Warcraft. There wasn't a better time for MMORPG gaming for me.

DAoC Pre-ToA. Best game and community ever.

My first MMO ever- Pre-NGE SWG.
D&D Home Page - What Class Are You? - Build A Character - D&D Compendium
Actually I would just use the time machine to go back in time and stop the NGE from ever happening. Then I could still play the game I want to play.
D&D Home Page - What Class Are You? - Build A Character - D&D Compendium
Titan. I'd then return to current time and make billions off of what I know.
He who keeps his cool best wins.
UO T2A... I would be very sad at the end of the 30 days!
Remember Old School Ultima Online
Future: I would play Xsyon (with all the planned features that exist only on paper now).
Past: DAoC, no doubt.
I maintain this List of Sandbox MMORPGs. Please post or send PM for corrections and suggestions.

If i go back in time, I would not be on bed rest?
I would go back in time, but not to play games - pretty sure I would be buying stocks and not selling all the old cars I had for little to nothing.
3 years in the furture is kinda pointless, 10 years might have been a bteer option.
Or could I use it to go 3 years over and over?

Old school SWG.
Despite sb.exe, I'd go back to that.

SW: ToR on the day of release or EVE 3 years from now

Id go forward intime and play hologram mmorpgs in a star trek simulator! Mind you in about 20 years from now mmorpgs will just be normal.

Future - Undead Labs' Zombie MMO

UO a few months after T2A was released, or SWG a couple months after release.
Currently Playing: DAOC Uthgard
Previously Played: UO, DAOC, Shadowbane, AC2, SWG, Horizons, COX, WOW, EQ2, LOTRO, AOC, WAR, Vanguard, Rift, SWTOR, ESO, GW2.
First, I'd go back to the past and stop myself from ever getting addicted to EQ. Then I'd invest heavily in Blizzard, padding my bank account now.
Second, I'd go to the future and play SW:TOR.
