Cross Shard LFG
You will not notice any difference when using the LFG tool in-game; however, with the release of Cross Shard LFG you'll have the ability to take on dungeons with other players on shards across your Wargroup.
To test this new feature we ask that you split yourselves up across PTS PvE and the PTS PvP shards - to help facilitate this, we ask that if your character name starts with A-N that you play on PTS PvE, and O-Z play on PTS PvP. You'll have the ability to Transfer any existing characters to either shard to make it easier.
IMPORTANT :
You may not need a cross shared LFG tool...........Let me explain.
I'm not playing Rift yet, waiting for another major sale again. HOWEVER with every mmo I had ever played I was able to get groups together for anything within 10 minutes even Vanguard ( yes Vanguard, with it's extremely low population ).
Use the " Social Panel " ( I'm sure Rift has one ). Search by level and class your looking for and send tells to them asking if they would like to join your group. Be nice make a friend. Then not only would you fill your group you can add them to your friends list of people that like to group
Some say sending tells are rude........That's bull crap....Your being nice, I've never ever seen anyone get mad that I've asked. This makes any mmo's sooooo much better to play, because you become the most social player in the game.

I read the whole thing, but those were the only important parts.
You haven't even played the game yet.
I fail to see why anything else is really coming from a position of experience about RIFT and what's needed if you haven't even SEEN the inside.
It's like saying "I haven't gone to Disneyland yet, but they may not need to add additional summer help."

I've played since headstart as well, and no, we don't need a x-shard LFG.
Shard specific LFG is fine just the way it is.

I fine with the way it is right now, find a decent guild, or be proactive not reactive...

Rift needs this badly. If they didn't I guess they wouldn't do it.
Yes, finding a great guild would help get groups. So, too, will this addition.
I've also been playing Rift since launch, and I am more apt to disagree with the need for cross shard LFG tools. Then again, I don't use the LFG tool, I just use 50 chat to find a group for whatever I need to do, whether it be a daily raid rift, rift farming in Shimmersand, doing the world PvP dailies, or T1/T2 dungeons.
Now, just a thought, but it seems the majority of complaints I have heard about the LFG system in Rift stem from being unable to find a tank. This is a common problem across all servers, so with the combined pool of various servers, there is still going to be a massive ratio of DPS to Support/Heals/Tank, which will still result in longer queues for non-tank classes.
I think the group of players who will benefit the most from a cross server LFG system would be those below level 50.

This must be a troll post or a joke. I was on deepstrike and the population was pretty high.
Also, we DO NOT need a cross shard LFG. Its not hard to get groups as it is right now, just stop being lazy and find people if the LFG isnt working (Honestly, I never had to wait longer than 15min on the LFG)
As easy and fast as it is to level you could have started over on a populated server and still be playing. I did it and I'm happy for it.
What they did do was allow server transfers. You have several options available to you should you decide to re-sub.
This is a good point, and I do think a lack of tanks is the real issue. However, adding a cross shard lfg will alleviate not finding a group due to low population. It should also show that the tank class really needs to be a more enjoyable class. Don't assume I'm saying its a gameplay issue. I think a lot of it has to do with how ez-mode dps are arm-chair tanks.

Not true according to Scott Hartsman, who runs the game and played RIFT longer than Headstart.
Since cross server is coming as announced, I guess they need to reduce wait times.Sorry, but gonna have to take his word over yours since he seems to know a bit more about RIFT than you do. But thanks for input!
