im a big starwars fan and have been following swotor for a longtime but more i hear about swotor the worse it gets. there is some bad word of mouth about the beta and leaks, ie its a rudimentary fed-ex delivery quest grind. i could almost live with that if the art design wasnt the most atrocious ive seen in a long time for the amount of money they dumped into this its really shameful how unoriginal it all looks. its cartoon network lvl art design is aimed squarely at the kid/teenage market, and adult starwars fans who will buy anything as long as it has a starwars logo plastered on it.
has anyone actually looked at the character models and thought they looked good? seems in the kotor era people had odd physiques thighs buffed like chicken drumsticks and tiny lower legs, same thing with upper chest bloated and cartoon waist. the faces arent much better bulbous noses, anime eyes and a general clown look, the facial features are far too big. and forget about customization from the looks of it you will be stuck everyone looking the same except different hairstyle or lame tats/horns. and no im not talking about pollys or lighting dx11 game engine, its the general look of the world and characters, if anyone watched the alderaan trailer with the mini dungeon quest boss guy right there is what im talking about . the boss looks riducolous, the colour scheme uhmm just makes me think mcdonalds all red and yellow, and the shoulderpads again just trying to outdo wow...maybe mmo designer think the secret formulae to success and mass subscriptions is all linked to how big and physics defying you can make the shoulderpads.
and when you log in it will not immerse you into the starwars universe, becuase its going to be lots of people running around spamming for heroics/grind etc with their all so funny and original names...heres a few that will shatter the immersive experience darth tank-alot, luke healbot, hann pewpewlazorr, etc etc why do people think its funny or orginal to name their toons i-heal or tank-tank ?
at least wait till the reviews start rolling in, but always remain a little cynical of them not pointing any fingers but its just the way review/fansites etc work they rely on advertising and customer hits, if a game tanks a site might lose a revenue stream and interested players who would visit site for said game info. i hope the game offers a lot of fun, and i hope people enjoy it, but dont pretend to enjoy something just becuase its being hyped, i just get a funny feeling this game is another virtual mouse sim with you chasing a trail of neverending bread crums, or in other words another carpel tunnel syndrome clicky quest/dungeon grind.

You wait. I like what I've seen and I'm ready to preorder.
So in other words it will be teh same as 99% of the other games out there.
Really, if your goi9ng to whine about something in a game youve never played and isnt out yet, pick something half decent.
Its also funny you tell people not to count there chickens before they hatch, but here your judging the quality of your chickins before they even arrive.
Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"
Sig typo fixed thanks to an observant stragen001.
The hate is strong in this one (breathes like Darth Vader), but on a serious note I have had my 2 pre-orders up for months all I have to do is wait for the word to go legit at SDCC tomorrow. Than I can run down to Gamestop and have them set to the CEs and pickup my pre-order codes. While people are hating and being butthurt my wife and I will be enjoying ToR. What will you be doing?
I never preorder till the company officially announces everything.
But I sure love counting my chickens before they hatch.
A lot of reviews either are biased FOR the game, biased AGAINST the game or just plainly written incompetently where the writer is trying to come off as cool even though they only played maybe.. 10 hours of a game and give a 'review'.
I don't think with something as minor as a game purchase and as important as my fun that I'll let some failed writer, blogger, fanboi or hater color my decision.
I'll happily pay for my pre-order and find out for myself just what I think of this game and any others I'm considering buying.
"TO MICHAEL!"
I see the game as being a potential means of having fun, so I was very willing to pre order. Those that don't see it as a way to have fun in their spare time can move on to something else.
If by chance I start playing the game and don't find it very entertaining, i'll consider it a small loss compared to the potential of investing in something that may be lots of fun for years to come
