The amount we pay to play this game is nothing, if it's a fortune for some1 maybe they should look at the f2p games out there, I know I wouldn't spend a fortune on anything game related.
This CE is going to sell for twice the price in a matter of weeks after launch, a lot more if the game really delivers and reaches cult status. But even if it does fail, the real fans will pay premium for the CE and that will let me play for free, pay for some other games and a few nights out with friends.
This is not even a risky investment with an IP like StarWars.
Thanks to whoever invented Collectors Editions, best friggin idea ever!
Either that or they will have them stacked up at HMV for 1/5 of what they are worth, if it flops they will pe worthless and we dont even know how many they are actually shipping, being EA probably too many to try and get as much money out of everyone.

Initial demand is really up there at the moment.
As far as I know there are no places right now that you can get the CE version.
To the OP, $150 is a fortune? o_O
Gdemami - Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
First off i,ll say i,m not the biggest star wars fan ,but do you guys not think that your hyping this game up too much.majority of you have'nt even had a chance to play the game yet and your spending a fortune on CE copies. Now dont get me wrong guys but after all the hype of such games as conan and others should you not aire on the side of caution given all the problems that some games releases have brought nothing but pain and misery to thousands.
Personally i really hope you enjoy this game ,i just hope spending all that hard earned coin does'nt backfire on you guys.
With my discount at Game SWTOR cost me £27.00 for the normal edition, I never buy CE games, I've too much clutter in the house as it is, I don't need extra tat for a steep price.
However I don't see me pre-ordering a game at £27.00 a mistake, I did the same with AoC and enjoyed playing that game for a few years, so I definately got my moneys worth out of that purchase aswell.
Don't you think YOUR over-hyping the whole CE thing?
While my guess is the game experience will be quite average overall for most players the game will in all likelyhood still be very fun...
As far as folks making a mistake pre-ordering the game or paying $150 for the CE version "for each his or her own" and i hope they all feel like they get their monies worth out of the game when its all said and done..
As for me im not a collector or even a hardcore SW junkie and i dont buy into CE gimmick goodies so the SE version will be my choice for this game..
If this were a Cryptic game, yes. If this were a Square Enix game, yes. If this were a Sony game, yes.
This is Bioware. Unlike these other companies, Bioware has never screwed me over on one of their games. So, until they give me a reason not to trust their product, I have no problem preordering their games.

The CE is already sold out at most places, i am having real trouble finding some now.
Even if the game flops, there are way too many Star Wars fans and collectors out there willing to pay premium for a unique plastic figure to add to their collections. They don't even need to like the game, thats the beauty of it.

You are one of the reasons these new MMO's flop.
Alot of people will buy the game and alot of people will leave it again after the first month. it could be just not their piece of cake. Now you are the type of peron wich is looking at that decline and based on that you will either play or not play the game. Eventho you might not know nothing about it.
The people who dont buy the game and wait for that decline are the people who are letting these games die. Learn to formulate an own opinion in what you like rather then following the masses.
The only mistake I could think of, if i was to pre-order... Is why am i doing this when they haven't even announced a monthly sub fee.... and why haven't they?
I preordered the CE and they only required me to put at least $25 down which is no big deal. If I don't like the game from Early Start I just won't pick it up and they'll give me a store credit to use on another game. I don't know about putting anymore than the min required down on it though. I have played alot of MMOs, but never really got burned that bad for preordering except for well Champions Online. They made drastic changes to the game on day one of the release and it wasn't even near the same game I played in Open Beta which sold me on the game. I'm not too worried about Bioware pulling the rug out from everyone on day 1 with some huge change so I guess I'm content with my $25 down on the game.

Well I'll tell you what.. I came to this forum originally because of the NGE. Ultima Online is my favorite MMO ever and the NGE reference would be my 2nd favorite.. obviously prior to that(nge) but anyway.
Hell the little sig thing I use is even a reference to TOR... yet I pre-ordered it. Yes I have a CE pre-order...
I suppose one could wonder why I ordered it at all. The only thing I'll say in regards to that is.. Its not a mistake for me.
*edit* lol ahem I figure I should add this. Unlike one of my previous posts suggested.. I did not put a CE on ebay. Just in case someone looks at my post history. I only pre-ordered two copies (one for me and one for the girl friend).
Thank you for your heartfelt concern. I'm quite confident that the money I've spent and will spend on my standard edition pre-order is not a mistake. Thanks again for your display of altruistic concern, such kindness is not often seen on these forums.

let me get this right..all i do is ask a question and i am the reason that this game may fail..if you read my thread at all you would realise that the last thing i want is for a game as big as this to fail.i am just in awe of how many peeps have gone for this game..the question was a genuine question, thats all. personally i think the game is more likely to fail with the attitude that you have m8.i never said at any stage that i wanted this game to fail at all.i wish this game evry success and the people playing it..and it just maybe something that i might play..only thing from my perspective, being disabled , i cannot afford collectors editions and high price games, thats all.all the people responding saying £130 is not a lot of money, well it is for me.
I also wish they had a box/digital edition with all the CE in-game content without the need to pay that much extra for a statue I do not like, need or want to have, but like I said you can sell those CE statues quite easily on ebay.
"The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in."
For lots of people, yes. I'm in Canada and BC & Ont has 12-13% tax, that's almost $170. Not about to sink that much money into a game when you're neck deep in bills in this crappy economy.

I think the DE should have included all of the "in game" things. Why it doesn't is beyond me.
I ordered the CE because I wanted a physical copy... but I have no interest in the statue. I don't mind the price.. I'd would just rather have had an option for something I'd actually want. I used to be a power seller on ebay but I left there years ago and really don't want to go there to sell anything.
Even tho I don't need it and I think its over priced... I'd rather have had a CE option bundled with that Razer TOR keyboard.. compared to the statue it would have cost more.. but at least I might be interested in it.

Are you kidding? I've been waiting for this game since it was first rumored to be in the making. This is Bioware. For many of my friends and I, this is THE game. It's not Aion or Rift or some game we'll play for a month or two and move on. It's th game we plan on playing for years to come. Fortune? Lol I spent $480 on three collectors editions. Needed one each for my wife and I, and even bought a copy for my sister. Put this in perspective. I spent more on dinner and drinks last night than I did on a single copy of the CE.
Sigh, I'm probably just getting old, but I still don't understand why anyone would pre-order something if they don't know what it is. How many other things do you pre-order? You pay for your car, food, house, before you get to see it? You pre-order clothes and then wait to see what they look like? You pay for a movie before it comes out? Weird.

Well, yeah, in virtually all those cases you are, in effect, pre-ordering.
You can only get a taste of what's to come in every example you cited. You put your faifth in your judgement by buying it, and pre-ordering an MMO is no different.
RIFT was a *crushing* disappointment; a shallow, loveless, generic MMO the likes of which hasn't been seen in a P2P format since, well, forever.

Come on guys, if there is any company you should have a little faith in, its Bioware, no? Already pre-ordered mine on Origin.
The CE is already sold out at most places, i am having real trouble finding some now.

EA's marketing aren't stupid, they know the value of the star wars franchise and will milk it until the udders are dry.

You can sell those CE statues to collectors probably for $100+ later on.

There are like 2 companies that have delivered a game i loved every single time they released anything, ever.
Bioware is one of them so i feel confident in giving them my money.
I'll probably buy the digital deluxe version.
