Epic pvp or bad code??

Just had the craziest fight at the end of the valley near vadda. My 3 guildmates and I saw a known thief that plagues Vadda. He was blue, but we decided to attack anyway. So we send our dire wolves and bears in to attack. Each pet attacks us, instead of the target! Needless to say, we all turn gray, and the thief gets away.

Seconds later 3 blue fighters from Vadda come out of the woodline, and see us standing there gray and wounded. We take a wide circle around them, they attack. We attempt to communicate, but die. During this second fight, our pets attack them some, and us some, and also stand around doing nothing some...lol.

I'm starting to think MO is swirling down the drain....Someone tell me the Devs are feverishly working day and night to make a stable game.
