World of Warcraft: Rumor: Is 'Mists of Pandaria' the Next WoW Expansion?

I might think about coming back to WoW if this expansion is not mostly focused on Pandarans, I honestly cannot stand them, add playable Naga...I'm in.

Honestly, it doesn't make sense to me that an expansion would be named after a relatively small island and a race that doesn't really have much significant in lore, reality Pandarans have much less than Worgens. It's so little content, they would have to blow up the size and significance of Pandaria, and Pandarans a boat load (making it suck) to really be considered an expansion. I actually think it's more likely a cool Patch much like The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj or Rage of the Firelands, etc.

Actually no, no such law exists. I would know, I live here. If it did, there would be no way Kung-Fu Panda could be such a big deal over here. If I recall correctly, that movie features quite a bit of violence involving Pandas.

It's not so much the 'violence' involving Pandas... it's that if Pandaran was a playable race, then the game would depict the death of Pandas.  That's the main issue.

I reckon there will be some sort of annoucement of an expansion of free to play beyond level 20 at this years Blizzcon . Would be nice if it went upto level 60 and encompased the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor .

Unless it's a smoke screen, this is the exact type of copywritting they did for other expansions. I'm thinking it's a hero class, playable by both sides.

And that Vengeance of the Void stuff is BS.

That would be the new hero class I say..  like those drunken fist dudes.

It'd be great if they started producing content and expansions faster.  I have friends who wanted these little panda dudes when it first came out.  They sure would be happy it it were true!  Good find, reporters!

    Edited for made up words

The problem with this theory is that the expansion would never be able to be released in China unless they changed all of the pandas to something else just for China.

the thing is this, even if it was a REAL leak (i believe blizz pr did this not someone's investigation) this still doesn't change the fundamental problems with the game? that people are complaining about and thus leaving (you know the 600k and climbing number who left/are leaving) the forced repeat progression, the lack of crafting, the 5 new faction grinding, the point system, the forced grouping these are all not going to change, i will be completely surprised if they actually do change them. Because of this, i'm one of the 600k+ that left them and i never plan on returning. Just an FYI to those who may be new to the mmo scene as to why this game is on it's way out. It's the developers and Diablo III having a real life currency auction house for items in game is a big highway sign for where this company is headed.

Blizzard has to make special skins for the Forsaken and other skeleton type creatures that show bones, since showing bones is prohibted in China.

Skinning the Pandera to a non-panda bear is similar to that process, and they could call the expansion something different in China.

Mists of Pandaria could also refer to a new book, new deck for the card game, and a number of other warcraft related things.

I can tell you they will get another 2-3 months out of me if they release pandarens. I was pretty sure I would never say anything like that after the crap that has been the last 2 expansions .. but .. just cant resist.

LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already :)

As I posted in the other thread: China is ok with pandas in game. WC3 had pandas in China. They didn't like seeing pandas in Japanese theme gear. They're fine with Chinese pandas.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

Blizzard has been squeezing out older, mature gamers and actively dumbing down the game and appealing to little kid account money for quite some time now. Looks like that new Wall Street-type CEO has decided to take the game over the children clift and make this exclusively a cartoon game for little ones.

I may know the least here, but I am the loudest about what I do know.

     +1

I cant think of anyhting more of a turn off than seeing all those stupid Pandas running about. The game should now come with an age rating of 5-12 years on the box.

China is very proud of their pandas so why anyone would think anything else is beyond me.

While some Japanese mangas seems to enjoy people that turns into pandas the fact is that pandas only live in China, not Japan so the whole idea of pandas upsetting people from China is just weird.
