THE FIGHT FOR LIFE

"In the beginning, there were RPGs and games were at peace. Then there was the internet and a new spiece of game developed; MMORPGs. The very first ones were major successes and the market grew. However, it was soon over populated and games were beggining to be weary of each other. War broke out and the market was a battlefield."

Forget about all the nonsense above. I'm talking about are competitiveness; it's too extra. Yes, I don't mind us competing in-game; it's when we're emolous when we're not. We are thinking "I'm still in a PvP arena", game versus game.

You mind say that there is nothing wrong with being antagonistic in an MMORPG community or forum or whatever but it's not helping us at all; it's hindering. For example, when some new game gets annouced and some guy posts something about all the nice things about his precious game, some other dude totally flames him about how his beloved game is still better. A new MMO (good or not) should always be great news as alleast we know are market is growing. Just as a game shutting down should be tradic.

It effects games more than you may think. Some internet sufer stumbles across some advert for a game, his first MMO, and realises they are incredibly, addictively fun (better than crack) and does his research on the MMO with the best PvP. His posts in some thread, with a smiley face to end it all. The first reply is "Try X" then it's "Y or X; Z is still better!" the "NO! Y ftw! Z sucks!". He desides he'll try out X first. He goes into the game forums and askes for a good guild. It turns out to be a long firefight totally excluding the dude. He just gets bored and turns on his Xbox then goes looking for crack. Another costumer lost.

It's like we're all trolls under particular bridges screaming about how our bridge is best but, really, no ones crossing anything! Was about to write a whole load more but I'll leave it at that; let your game do the talking.

I selected "Other - Please state," as it is very easy for any reader to avoid any and all posts she doesn't think is worth their time to read. More opinions and more information is better, even if those opinions come in the form of the examples you gave.

Now they don't even want us to express our opinions?

    Who wrote that anyway?
