default I'm a good person! :D

We met Nepster and Malefic in the wild. Me, Alaowyn & Malcoster helped with them horses, and saw i carried 67silver and horse equipment. Which we gave to the yellow, so he could buy some books.

Look their happy reactions! :P

I'd say it's probably too early to say what type of effect a program like this would have had just yet.  Generally, I believe such a concept takes some time to manifest itself, with incremental effects accumulating over time, from act to act.

Of course, each action taken by members of the movement are important to keeping it going forward, and eventually having the type of impact that's hoped for.

No doubt, Thirst did a nice thing which did appear to impact at least a couple of players.

Honestly, though, I think that similar acts of kindness have been happening throughout the life of the game so far.  I know I've witnessed it on quite a number of occasions.  The game's community is actually really good (minus the few bad apples all of them have).

nice guys dont care to toot their own horn every time they do a good deed.

Talar Matar accademy (used to be out of fabernum) used to spend endless hours for months on end teaching new players the game, giving them armors, horses, gold, weappons so they wouldn't rage quit within the first hour. and this was way back when there wasn't even a game tutorial, or compass, and in game books didn't have any explanatory text. they did that service to the comunity free of charge and never asked for anything in return to anyone. they helped everyone regadless if they wanted to be red, blue, or whatever. now those guys exemplified "comunity spirit" in a way you will never undestand. it was a great loss imo when they decided to leave MO.

The guys with Talar Matar were great, no question about that.  Unfortunately, it was a small group performing those services that went with them.  Not to disparage what they did, but a truly great movement will survive you, at least until the need is gone.  Granted, the tutorial information in-game is better than at launch, so the need isn't as great, but a game that's as off the beaten MMO track as this one will always have a higher learning curve because fewer players are familiar with this style of play.

That's where something like this community movement is different.  It's not directed, nor will it completely dominate anyone's time or effort.  It's just a small adjustment in mindset and action, on a much larger scale, which can actually be self-perpetuating.

No, the sentiment that started Talar Matar and this movement has been present in many places, and still remains.  You'll find it in guilds like FOR, AI, WSX, and TOG.  You'll find it in individuals as well.  It's not hard to understand - it's always been there, because overall the community is pretty damn good.

Such actions do make a difference, but I have serious doubts it's because of some kind of "movement" to begin with.. Just some nice guys :P

But yeah, real nice people dont need to toot their horns every time they are being nice.
