Positives and Negatives

I really enjoy this game. There are many reason why this game is awsome and the obvious fixes that need to be made or what you think should be changed. Instead of having to read a whole bunch of different threads why players like it or why they hate it I would appreciate it if you would "vent" on everything you love and hate about the game here. Feel free to just go all out...dont hold back. Along with getting all the postives and negatives about the game many gamers out there can get a good idea if this game is for them.

I personally like everything about the game but I want to hear what you guys think. Thanks image

the only suggestion i'd make is that the automatic matching of teams in the guild v guild combat should take into account individual character levels (if it doesnt already). i had a lvl 13 char (started at lvl 1) in a team of lvls 11-15 but we were pitted against a team of lvl20's, and got totally thrashed...now it could have been that no lower level groups were available to fight, but some indication or handicap system would be cool IMO.

    (copied from a seperate thread)

thats it, everything else is perfect...

    Positives:

Very little levelling (pretty much goes up as you complete quests)
    Superb graphics
    Inovative financial model
    Cool crafting + dyes
5 varied classes + mix and match classes
    Questing system
    Very few bugs
    Guild v guild pvp
    explorable areas

    ---sig---
currently training 'hoping for more sci-fi mmorpgs' to level 5

    ---sig---

PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    Positives:

    1.  Not forced to travel to a city where your friends are.

    2.  Low level cap, allows for players to get into the PvP quickly.

    3.  Six classes.  A primary and secondary, allowing for many possibilities.

    4.  A large skill pool to choose from.

    5.  The 8 skill limit.  Really makes me think about what skills I want to bring into battle.

    6.  No monthly fee

    7.  Very well balanced.  No class is to powerful.

    Negatives:

    1.  Not enough PvP maps.  I'd like to see a few more.

    2.  The cut scenes.  Though I'm fairly certain they'll fix them up, it doesn't make sense to leave them as they are.

And thats it.  Great game, and I'm definetly getting it.  The PvP is absolutely superb.  image

i love nearly everything in the game, so i won't be writing the pros.
    as for the cons...
    - lvl20 cap seems a bit too low
    - not that much items (hope there'll be more in final)
    - not sure about the rest, rest is good (played only one bwe though)

    nec/ran

Love is a bit far for a game, though this is coming from someone who spends more time playing them than he should - by a very long way.

However, the things that make Guild Wars a decent game to me are:

    1. The sense of community in the game - Although I know most of my Guild mates from another game, and have known them for longer than a year in most cases, since the January BWE we've recruited two new members who we've had no experience with in the past, and to be frank, they fit right in with the Ministry spirit.
    2. The plethora of choice for combinations - with 75 skill types for each profession, that gives 150 skills for each character. Considering there can be 30 different Profession Builds (each as Primary, each as Secondary on all others), and each have an attribute pool of 4 main different types of attributes, that gives 34 different combinations per different character (if focusing on 4 attributes/3 with a leftover). So in total there are 1020 different Build types - there has to be at least one liked by everyone ;)
    3. The fact the game is played at level 20 rather than all the levelling up - even if I do think that you get there too quickly (getting to level 20 a bit before level 20 armour is available would be ideal)
    4. The quest system, with side quests included - gives a much stronger RPG role to the game
    5. The need of a strategic mind to concentrate on Builds - particularly those compatible for GvG. Gives a much stronger need of understanding each profession

    I agree with you Ministry.

One of the biggest pros that I find, is that the game changes based on what you do, and what quests you do.  There may be an NPC you are on a mission with (meet up with in a battle or something).  If he doesn't die he will be around to give you quests, but if he does die, you can't get those quests, as he is dead.  It's a persistent world, where what you do affects your game later down the road.

    Pros:

    1. No Spawning - monsters that I just killed re-appearing behind me can be exciting sometimes, but generally it's just stupid, especially now that I've tried GW. And no Spawning means:
    2. No Camping - camping can also be fun sometimes, but it always just gets old, no matter how cool the mobs are or how 'immersive' the environment is. And because there is no Camping, there is, you guessed it:
    3. No Grind - the 'work' of getting my character up to where it can participate in genuine and fair PvP is just plain fun in GW. And because there is no montly fee, once it releases I will be able to build characters as fast or slow as I want without having to worry about whether the money I spent is going to waste. And no spawning also means:
    4. No Kill-stealing, Ganking, camp-hogging, etc. But my favorite thing of all is probably:
    5. No Pointless Travel or other time-wasters. I play the game because it's fun to play, not because I need to do something mindless and repetitive every day for the next 2-4 weeks in order to get to where the REAL fun is. Building a powerful and versatile character will be rewarding, but the process of getting to that power and versatility will always be fun. I can't wait to get out into the explorable ares and see what the devs and artists have put there so that I can test my hunting skills (and different character builds, skill combinations, etc.), as opposed to groaning at the thought of having to go out and do the same **** things to the same **** mobs over and over and over again.

    Cons:
    (withheld until after release)

I'd like to see a change to the F-10 Log Out feature, instead of making you re-enter the username and password once you hit F-10, it takes you back to Character Select screen. Then from Character Select, you can log out of the game.

Would be useful especially if you're only wanting to change characters that you're playing. =)
