yeah becasue only pc gamming have imbalances.... with consoles now having internet access you can bet the imbalances on console will be far more common now, because like in teh pc they can always send a patch to fix later so they can monetize the game sooner

FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

Pc has all the imbalances of console plus many more and more sophisticated cheating

I don't get my hope too high for this, I'll way to see what they will do with it first because to be honest, Counter-Strike : Global Offensive announced itself the same way. Even if it's not so much of a "MMO", CS:GO was suposed to launch on all console and every one were suposed to play with everyone.

They ditched the idea because it was too complicated and the cost was too high.

Right now the game is still only on PC, they might still get it out for console, but I'm sure PC / PS / Xbox user won't be able to play with each other.

Something to note too is the fact that they might also consider waiting for next gen console before trying something like that.

Anyway, in the end, I think it's hyping the game too much to do something like this. If the company have trouble delivering it's just going to disappoint people and make less people play. It's not even confirmed yet to be in the release.

I watched a friend of mine play during the Alpha phase, it didnt quite catch my interest that very much at all. Bland, has a very single player feel to it and not convinced at all to purchase the founders pack so far. They even have a set date to when it will release.

To me, that isnt a good idea. Setting a set proper milestone during Alpha/Beta when the game still needs time to adjust, fix the bugs and gain customer feedback will generally turn out to be a false hope. Right now, Im just here waiting to see what happens to the game.

Three cross-platform games (Shadowrun, Universe at War: Earth Assualt, and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition) of different genres by seperate developers tried it with the Xbox 360 and PC.

Based on poor results, don't expect anyone to try it again anytime soon. So MS didn't kill the idea or anything. They technically still allow it.

Having said that I highly doubt they would allow another cross-console game like FFXI again. Sony doesn't seem interested in it either. I can understand why a console maker wouldn't want to prop up the competition (Defiance more than likely will do far better on the Xbox 360 than PS3).

i think thats unfortunate - it worked for FFXI

Microsoft is just mad at the idea of people playing it online on a console without paying them for the privelage.

I'm upset its not cross platform because I was hoping to play with my friend. She only plays PS3 and I have both PC and PS3 but I don't want to play it on my PS3(graphics and targetting)

I dunno, I tried the game and didn;'t really think it was anything special. The pvp was also absoultly horrible with how unbalanced it was. Pretty much in pvp when I played everyone just ran around spamming rockets from rocket launchers, and if you lacked one you couldn't do anything. The gameplay also was not even that great, its bascally a dumbed down version of borderlands.. Needs more than 4 active skills. I was going to pre-order it but now I am not sure if its worth the 60 buck price tag for a game thats pretty much just a generic shooter. I could get 2-3 3DS games for that.. If the price was 30 or 40 i'd probally buy it, but 60 is asking too much for what the game is. Also its not the first, there have been others.  All and in whether I buy the game will be based on the upcoming beta I am in, if I don't see some pretty major changes I'll probally not waste my money.

I just found the combat boring and lackluster, Especally when the npcs lack any sort of AI, they just stand in the open when there is cover right smack beside them, not to mention only 1 active skill really per char gets old real quick. I'd have prefered it to be like tabula rasa, where you unlock more spells/skills as you go.

Also its nto that I dislike Trion Worlds either, I own rift and its expansion and still have an open account. although I quit at lv 59 because I didn't see a point to raiding for gear I have no use for anymore. Was no content added outside of raids that need raid gear. Which is something mmo's lack these days, if your gonna let us raid, at least give us non-raid uses for the gear. Pvp would be great but most devs screw up because they add in special pvp gear with special pvp stats. Which just kills it.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!

    Corruption

is now officially open for recruitment.

Only being weeks away from a PS3/XBL Beta test (hopefully), its time to get grouped up, organized and ahead of the official launch. Our core leadership is made up of mature, experienced, MMO gamers.

    Requirements:

-18+ years of age is not a requirement but a huge advantage when it comes to obtaining a leadership rank earlier on in Corruption, however time in game and your proven abilities and activeness is far greater than any age requirement.

    -A working PS3/XBL Mic is a must.

-Be respectful of others in the guild and leadership ranks.

-Have fun and we will all learn the best strategies for raids/open world events together!

The following below is a list of how we plan on doing the rank structure in Defiance:

(Depending on how the rank structure system is set up in game.)

    -Leaders (All Permissions)
-High Council (All Permissions minus the edit permission privilege.)
-Warlord (Same permissions as High Council minus the Kick out of Guild option, with the addition to being in charge of PVP.)
-Officer (Same Permissions as Warlord just not in charge of setting up our PVP operations.)
-Head Recruiter (In charge of recruiting talent via all medias necessary including forums, in game, and ect. Includes invite permission.)
-Legend (Honored member of the guild/clan with invite to guild privileges.)
-Recruiter (Invite to guild privilege only.)
-Member (Rank earned by being active and participating in guild events/raids.)
-Prospects (Brand new to the guild/clan.)

Again, this is how we plan to move forward but will adapt if the Guild engine is different that what we are expecting. These are solid ranks we are setting up based off of our past MMO experiences and hopefully there will be some sort of in game permission that players will be offered regarding the permission masks of inviting, kicking, and editing member ranks in game and not just on some forum.

Again if you have any question feel free to ask or pm a leader-Doc, Darky, or Xannidel.

The Corruption forums are officially open and accepting application at this time for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Please click the link below and apply today!
