Anyone knows something about it?

I saw some gameplay on youtube and it looks good, but I dunno.. I kinda have a big problem with all the Perfect World junk.

Anyone that can't stand PW, and likes this?

I am playing on a... server :) Less than legitimate, let's say, I will not give further details, as it is against the mmorpg.com rules.

This is my 1st contact with a true non-tab-targeting mmorpg...and I LOVE IT! Never had so much fun killing the proverbial 10 rats.

RaiderZ may not be the jewel of the crown, but it's miles away from the so called Perfect World quality. I actually like it. Very much.

And keep in mind that I am playing a beta version (probably an early one).

I am now convinced that non-targeting is the mmorpg's (as a genre) future.

This game is a pretty close copy to the Monster Hunter series which if you havent played you may also like a lot since it is much better quality.

Find it funny the alpha starts today, and we still have no client to download, but yeah the game looks like a cheap version of TERA.

TERA does have some addicting combat, and there's really not an MMORPG out there that captures a similar feel.  Should be interesting to compare the two at least.  I got a key for the alpha test here, so I'll check it out when servers come up.

It really is a poor man's TERA. Aside from some neat graphical tricks, the game looks and feels cheaper than a lot of the other PWE games, and the combat isn't anywhere near as fluid or responsive as it is in TERA.

Got into the alpha and am struggling a bit, in part because I've never been in an alpha and am not sure what to expect. There definitely are issues that are making this game difficult to play that have to do with the fact that this is an alpha, but there are plenty of problems that I think are just design issues.

I was level 3 and found and solo killed a level 5 boss (not to mention the level 3 boss.) But I saw melee characters really struggling with the same challenges. It appears that melee characters have a serious disadvantage because you need to be lightning fast to avoid attacks when you are standing toe to toe. But for ranged classes the opposite is true. I simply never had to worry about getting hit because the mobs are too slow to actually get close to me and successfully land an attack. I went and watched some team video of major bosses and was surprised to see it looking like WoW for the most part with everyone standing in their spot spamming powers until something was about to hit them and they had to move out of the way.

I think the "poor man's TERA" is appropriate but I think RoM is a "poor man's WoW" and yet I had fun in RoM when I played. I'm sure I'll log back into RaiderZ in the next couple days, but the thought of it feels a bit like a chore. The thing is, TERA is a lot of fun and was fun right from the moment I logged in. RaiderZ was not fun at all for the first couple hours and I don't see much reason to think it will be.

Things that look interesting: the skill trees and multiclassing show promise for certain. Also, crafting looks like it might produce some really nice gear. The action play style is something I very much like from TERA, but RaiderZ's "action" seems to be a little more gimmicky and not implemented successfully like TERA's. Hopefuly this is just a matter of needing to tweak things during alpha.

Never mind lower end systems.  People with higher end systems don't necessarily meet those specs.  It's hard to imagine that more than a tiny handful of people who don't have Windows 7 would still meet the CPU and video card specs.
