I think my interest in this title is waning a bit. I watched that Dev Diary and it didn't seem like there was much more there than random scenes that were similar to or exactly like that which I've already watched.
I might need to dig a bit deeper into their breadth and depth of massively-multiplayer game-play content because the impression I got from that Dev Diary also, is the emphasis on party instancing and raiding?

all of their released info is focused on something, maybe thats why... I don't know.
To me its drawing me in more evertime i see a new video and learn about the world there creating makes in want to log in right now but i know its going to be a while i dont mind waiting for a bit so they can get it done right and not push a halfass game
By virtue of the fact that there's no 'levels' and that the game will have vertical progression anyway, it will most likely take the form of a gear grind at least nominally. Not to say that's a bad thing if the conceptual 'install to endgame' timeframe is to be shorter or almost irrelevant in this game as is the current expectation.
Currently Watching: TSW. << Very Eager for a Beta invite. Have experience with Beta Testing. Not personally a big fan of raiding or current pve endgame mmo philosophy. Nothing wrong with it, I just sort of burnt out on it. Hardcore raider in wow from Launch to.. about 7 months ago. Currently Playing: Champions Online.
mm i wonder if there will be a bit of randomness to it like to triger this part it can happen with this joe number 2 but it could also happen while hunting fish in the pool for exemple?
For some reason this game doesn't draw my attention that much. I should read up on the lore, is this apocalyptic setting or something? and why does everyone have powers? The last scene was pretty cool though.

It's a near-apocalyptic or pre-apocalyptic setting, you're living in the time before it happens. Imagine if 2012 would really be the end of the world as the Mayans claim and that there would be signs for the observant beforehand, that's the world you live in, the time before where things build slowly up to that foretold doom.
Or at least, that's the world that TSW portrays.
What I've learnt about it so far, its setting according to the TSW game director Tornquist and his people is that TSW is our world. Only, all the myths, legends, folklore tales, urban legends and conspiracy theories that people dismissed as fairy tales and fiction, actually are true. It's just that the general populace have been kept in the unknown by secret societies that have been working hard to get all those incidents covered up and buried deep in records and archives to be forgotten by the normal world. Only that secret war that had gone on for ages is slowly becoming harder and harder to remain secret because of certain events that are unfolding.
Here's a trailer that was specifically about a number of those secrets and mysteries that are supposed to be ingame, Everything Is True.
Why people have powers is actually still a topic of speculation on the official boards, but from what could be gleaned so far, it looks like it's one of the means that the planet uses to protect itself from some unknown threat, not from this world or realm, that causes strange phenomena and bizarre incidents to get even more ramped up and go haywire all over the world. Sort of like antibodies that increase in numbers when the human body gets infested and sick. However, that's not officially confirmed, but just speculations based on what has been revealed so far.

the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
this snippet pretty much say the intention of the game and if you went to funcomsite they ask for your age on the site so it wont be for the faint of heart i guess
one thing i love tho is the fact you get 7 active skill and 7 passive skill
this will make things very interesting.we had similar in guild wars and it was insane in pvp 8v8 build!

Guild Wars with out the leveling... Only few games use such a skill system..

except there are three factions, so it would be 8v8v8
I dont know about any one else but the video is very interesting, I like it alot, best one yet. When I was watching this video I thought of my self playing it, thinking it would feel like I was leading the pack, like you know how some games your not sure at all about and you go ahead and start playing them anyway, felt like that to me for some reason.

Loved the Celtic sounding music in that video and hope they use more of it for the sound track. Music was one of things they really hit the nail on the head with in AoC so fingers crossed they keep it up with TSW.

IIRC the celtic music was from a movie, 'Passion of Christ' or something? I could be wrong though.

Something tells me this is going to be a faction gear grinder of epic proportions. The CGIs look great though.

I am interested in this game as I am hoping it will be something like the Kult RPG.
