Does the tech and engine behind RiFT only allow Dynamic Events in the game to be rifts only? could w

I really like the visual improvements that GW2 is adding to the DynamicEvent concept. I would like to see more visual events than just having a Rift plane every single time. I want other Dynamic events (not including zone events).
can this be done?

Offcourse it can. Look at warcraft for example, and compare what the game was at launch to what it is now.

The game has features that no one even dreamed 5 years ago, thats what games are, they evolve

Of course it can however the thing about GW2's Dynamic Events that set them apart from rifts is that DEs will replace quests. So that boring trash quest, where you have to kill 7 boars and collect their toenails, has become an event in the world you just randomly stumble upon. No one's forcing you to kill those boars. You could easily just ignore that farmer screaming for help, or you can just kill them for the heck of it. That's something Rift can't do because their rift's are tact onto the traditional quests that GW2 has abandoned.

Absolutely. I havent done a standard quest in Rift for over a week and Ive done plenty of Rift invasion which yield tons of xp, loot, and pugs ranging from 2 or 3 people sealing off rifts to 20+ raids taking out giant world bosses. Honestly, Trion could do just fine if they never made another standard quest and made nothing but rift content from here on out.

I dont understand.in rift there is an event in the lower level you get invaded you got to cloze the base camp kill the boss spreading his evil.if you dont rift appear if you dont close those intensionally they spawn if you dont stop that you loose buff etc.what is missing?as for graphic they correted bugs for toon and elsewhere.i am trying to understand your meanning?

By the way the quest you stumble upon is in there but it is hard to stumble upon it if you do not meet req.having defeated a rift not long ago ang if you are 20 in said area buut it is in the game i experiened it.maybe more freqent random spawn would be needed?

Simple aswer.. any and every single game on the market can do it.  its plain simple scripting.

    start part AA

IF player Succeeds Start Part BA  - If player succeeds start part CA - If player Fails start part BA

If Player Fails Start part AB

If player succeeds Start part AA

If player Fails Start Part  BA

Its just as "simple" as writing a npc walking away after you turn in some random quest. or making them walk around. it just a simple large Chart , the longer the chains the more complicate they become but its still "plain and simple" scripting that might not bin used much yet due to the increase in DB and CPU needs (server side)  and its more work to do whit pathing for the npcs and thinking deeper then the basic go there and kill x then turn in quest.

Ultima online used these kind of system , the taken out animal system at the start of the game is such a exsample. they writen a "wild live simulation" were animals would come and go depending on player action to them, kill them and they would not show up near town for a while , dont kill them and they would come back to town as they multiply , problem was that players killed every creature in the game and the script has no point to go from there as there were no begin points to multiply animals from anymore.

instead of fixing it and adding random animal spawing back at spots they choise to remove it from the game. in GW2 the system is more like the rifts, they will always happen independent of player interation due to the % Script. (roll a dice and get a rift)

If you're talking about the rift at the end of the tutorial then that's just a generic quest you pick up for a quest giver. If you're talking about a standard rift then we're here discussing the problem that they lack variety and end up being nothing but creature spawners, with no lasting effect and the same visual ques. The topic was started because the OP was wondering whether rift could have a more variety of dynamic content other than just rifts/invasions. Do you understand now?

it were their original plan back when it were called heroes of Talara, to be that dynamic

I would have to imagine that the opening of the rift could be replaced with something else that spawns all over the place.  I don't see what the problem is with that.  What else would you guys want other than a dynamic monster/mob spawner?  I suppose a ton of harvesting nodes could magically spawn in the middle of nowhere if that's what you guys want.  I'm sure they could attach some story with it, just like they did with the eggs and coins right after launch.  That is part of their technology, did any of you think about that?  It's not just the rifts.

Instead of just complaining, give some suggestions in what you'd like to see.  It's easy to complain about a problem, but it's much harder to actually fix it.  Give some constructive criticism, not just criticism.

Well one thing I would like to see Rift do is fix the subscription fee and make it free. XD

If that ain't possible then they could:

     - Find a way to prevent quest hub from being overrun with multiple invasions. 2 or 3 regular invasions I can handle but when they stack 5 or more invasion full of elites then things get ridiculous.

     - If they do that then Trion could remove the invasion reset feature, to give their dynamic content some form of persistence.

     - Also they could scrap the entirety of the quests and make just make sh*t happen like in GW2, but I doubt they'd do that at this stage.

Dynamicly wise it is.lasting effect?so the world stay invaded till it is gotten rid of?could be done easy.and most of the suggestion are analysed thorough.so if you feel you got a tip that would improve player enjoyement i would go on their forum and say it.just dont be vague.be thorough.so dev dont have to call the pope to make a prayer to god to make them understand the full of your idea.
