I am currently playing it again. Even though appearance tab would be nice i don't think it will make much difference to me. Although it might be very important for others.
You must be sooo bored then......
Bored? because i am having fun in a game which no longer interests you? only on mmorpg.com
No. I played it for like 2 or 3 months and the only reason I stuck with it that long was to justify spending the money on it in the first place. It was the best game that would play on an iMac so I figured why not give it a try. After all, millions of gamers can't be wrong right? Wrong. It wasn't for me.
...If it added an Appearence Tab that would allow you to use a cool armor's look without giving up stats, thereby giving players massive amounts of new freedom to customize their characters?
I played for 6 years, and haven't really played an mmo for longer than a month since.
But to stay on topic, going back to a game just for an appearance tab brings the question "why did you quit in the first place?" for me anyways gameplay is number 1, and probably the reason I haven't been able to find an mmo since WoW, because they do it so well in that game.
Let me get this straight... The game will be exactly the same, The kids and overall just plain vile community will still be the same but, I can sit for a few minutes / hours and cycle through useless armor customizations that bring absolutely nothing relevant to gameplay?
It'd be a start, and a feature I would like to see implemented. As said by others though, what would really make me want to return would be things such as player housing and alternate advancement. Unfortunately Blizzard's attitude still remains at 'MOAR RAIDS!!', so I more than likely will not be returning anytime soon.
I must admit though, I'm curious about the Firelands content...
I like character customisation myself, but I didn't get bored with WoW due to the lack an appearance tab. I'd only come back to WoW if they made changes to the core of the game, like adding 40+ man raids, removal of lock-out timers on dungeons, adding dungeons that allow me to spend a few hours exploring instead of being 30 minute speed runs.
No. I would love to come back to WoW, but appearance tabs are the last thing I would care about.
The biggest thing that will bring me back is a change in endgame, a lot of other things need improvements too (leveling and crafting for me), but the boring endgame just ruined it for me. Dungeons are fine for a while, but not enough. That's why I was excited about archaeology (disappointing) and Path of the Titans.

Short answer : No. I played it for 2 years straight, and i was a huge wow supporter.I originally played EQ before i came to WOW.EQ back in the day wasn't designed for the casual player. The person who only had an hour or two to play, and forget about soloing. After finally getting fed up with these features in EQ i went to WOW.I had fun,i could solo and do quests within the time i had available.
Shortly after burning crusade came out,I came to the point where i realized all i was doing was the same thing over and over again.Well i already knew this, but it was fun.It came to the point where i couldn't bring myself to log in to play anymore.I quit and i never looked back.Every MMO i've tried, well most of them are the same progression type model with slight differences.People need to demand innovation in the mmorpg genre, themeparks can be fun,but if there's no freedom to ride the ride you want it just becomes mundane.Like a Gerbil on a wheel, and you're paying 15 US a month for it.
For anyone who has never played a mmo I would highly suggest WOW since i see it as the training wheels of the mmo genre.Once you play WOW you know how to play most other mmo games, and it's fun,but eventually the themepark makes you sick, the illusion fades away and you find yourself naucious and vomiting on the rides you once loved.
Then you come to these Forums to bash on WOW fan boys.Which is pointless.Let them love it,let them enjoy,no reason to burst their bubbles. For when the ride ends and their covered in their own vomit we can say,"told you so" . Kidding, i know there's people who still play it to this day who've enjoyed it for years, more power to them i suppose.
So nope, never going to play WOW again.I Moved on to greener pastures.
Nah, they'd need to do a lot more than an appearance tab to win me back. Me and Wow had our time, but it was long ago and while I don't regret it, I don't hanker for it at all. Kind of like a bland ex, the thought of reuiniting is just "meh".
I'd play wow again if it went F2P probably.. not because of the reason you list in the the OP. There are so many haters but only because it's so popular and people like to be trendy and get mad when people think WoW is the holy grail (myself in included at times.). But WoW has a lot to offer IMO and wont be going anywhere anytime soon.
Nope. They destoryed my favorite class of all times, Resto Shaman. I really enjoy the combination abliity to make my heals powerful. But they completely nerfed the healing output. So I'm not sure if they fixed that in Fireland content because I quited before Fireland was released. And WoW really show it's age. Nothing new and exciting anymore. Only time I had so much fun is Vanilla Wow and TBC. I sound like a hardcore player which in fact, I am a Casual player. I played WoW like 10 hours a week, and played wow since it was a baby. WoW is really a great MMO. Only hope is Blizzard new IP, codename Titan, hopefully a mmo.
One mmo I don't mind go back is WAR. I still enjoy that game. that the only game I still have the desire to go back and hop on my Zealot.

I avoid games that have Cash Shop. I don't mind to play games that have Cash shop as long the cash shop don't sell something that would affect the gameplay like selling a powerful weapon. Rune of Magic is example of this issue. You need to use the cash shop to progress further. I remembered somewhere that someone said when ROM was offical released, Cash shop sell something like that. But later, the cash shop starting to sell something that you need to rely on cash shop to progress more. And that kill the fun. I know ROM do provides diamond (or whatever currency they use for Cash Shop) through questing or trading, but it will take a long time to get there if I go free route.
I would.....(doubt it) go back to Wow if it became free to play with cash shop that will not sell thing that will impact on the gameplay.
Nope. My desire to play WoW has long been passed. At this point, even if the game was entirely free I still wouldn't play it. Not hating, just don't want to play it.

I like my costumes in GW. I don't see it being a huge appeal in WoW. I'd be more happy if they'd un-nerf healers and fix druids. I don't expect either.

No I'll never play WoW again. I had fun enough with it, but I stopped around the time of Burning Crusades. Ive just never really had a desire to return. I guess I played for about two years.
For that matter how people can play any game for like 6 years as some have claimed I will never have a clue. Im extremely surprised I played any game for as long as 2 years much less the better part of a decade. But thats just me.
A wardrobe system will not make WoW any less shallow. If they added a collection system like Rift's artifacts/EQ2s collections, with an Alternate Advancement system and player/guild housing, then I "might" consider playing again. Until they change the current game's direction, NO.

Lol no. WoW has problems that stretch far beyond character apperance. WoW would need total rework of game philosophy , like radical back into vanilla wow. Get rid of quest tracker , dungeon finder + put more emphasis on open world ,etc for me to even consider coming back.
In current state WoW is I would not play it for free.
No, I really don't have any desire to go back. Cancelled my account about 4 months ago after player for three straight years. I agree that Vanilla Wow was when the game truly shined, and each expansion made it progressively worse. Cataclysm was the last straw for me in that they added absolutely nothing new to the game to keep my interest. I raided hardcore for about a year and a half straight in Wrath of the Lich King, and when Cataclysm came out, instead of adding some different things to the game, they just added more raids, and I just didn't feel like doing the whole gear grind again.
I had a great time playing WoW, and it's been far and away my best MMO experience. But I feel as though I've outgrown the game, and to be honest, I feel like I've outgrown that kind of game altogether. I tried playing Rift and thought it was nothing more than a crappier version of WoW, so I left that after 3 months. Tried EQ2, and although I heard great things about the content of the game, I just couldn't get into the gameplay, and am simply not a fan of SOE. I'm currently playing LOTRO until SWTOR and GW2 come out, and will hope one of those two can replace WoW. I do long for the days during Vanilla WoW when I was on my first toon, levelling up and not knowing what to expect as I stepped into each new zone. Hopefully, I can find another game that gives me that thrill again. Rift certainly didn't do it.
...If it added an Appearence Tab that would allow you to use a cool armor's look without giving up stats, thereby giving players massive amounts of new freedom to customize their characters?
Not even close to enough, but a step in the right direction. The major problem I have with WoW is I'm very much done with the quest hub soloing to cap then raiding themepark design. Did that for several years and it's just not fun for me anymore.
nah, I never was that into wow, and only played a warrior to about 40+ level. Not that interested in playing WOW ever again, unless they made it free to play.
========================== The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

I'll play again if the end game doesn't require I quit my job and get a divorce.
