KOTOR 2 lore relevant?

I've never gotten around to playing KOTOR 2.  Seeing as it wasn't a bioware game I was never that drawn to it.  Regardless, I'd like to be up on the lore for TOR when it launches.  The official website only refers to KOTR ( http://www.swtor.com/info/faq#356 ).

 

So, I'm wondering.  Is the story and lore from KOTR 2 relevant to TOR or are they treating it like a red headed stepchild and pretending it didn't happen?  (ie Blizzard and Diablo: Hellfire).  Seeing how Bioware didn't develop this, but they were involved to a degree I could see it going either way.  Anyway, I'd just like to know, because I'll plow through the game before release if it is relevant... but if not I wouldn't mind skipping it.

    The events of KoTOR will be addressed.

    Pax Prime TOR Panel did a great job of addressing that, and explaining how those events fit into the world.

    (TOR starts about 15:20 in, and the Q&A section that discussed KoTOR2 is probably 55 minutes in, sorry, been awhile since I watched it, but it was the last 15 minutes or so.)

    Pure speculation on my part, but I'm thinking the jedi being held on Taral V by the Empire is in fact the Exile.

    i agree that i think the prisoner is the exile.  she had followed revan into the unknown sectors and maybe she got captured.  but the prisoner isn't actually on taral V.  Taral V flashpoint goal is to get a computer that can decode the information that leads to the prisoners location.  Freeing the jedi prisoner is a different flashpoint which hasn't been named yet(atleast publicly).

    I'm going a little off topic here, but at 11:50 he's talking about game testing. He's talking about a hypothetical in which they give people a month to test but they still only see a very small portion of the game. Now in my experience a lot of people can burn through an entire MMO in a months time. This leads me to believe the content may even be longer than I imagine.

    I understand that the Magid marketing beta was a set amount of time (I'd think it was a month) I wonder if that is what they mean. For the coming Weekend Beta's, I'm going to bet it'll be limited to Origin Worlds (they wont want to spoil too much story) and perhaps they could make the alleged 35gb client a little smaller making it more friendly for folks to download.
