Onboard HDMI not working

BenthonBenthon Member Posts: 2,069

Hello,

I recently build a family computer. Specs include

AMD A3850 APU

MSI A75A-G35 Motherboard

The problem I'm having is that the Onboard HDMI located on the MSI A75A-G35 motherboard doesn't work. I'm trying to hook it up to my HDTV via HDMI-HDMI, but it doesn't seem to display anything. The VGA port does, but the HDMI doesn't. Anyone have an suggestions how to get this to work?

I've installed the Mobo drivers, CCC Vision (for the APU), and whatnot.

Did you install the latest catalyst version 11.7?

Edit: removed hotfix link cause I'm behind the times.

Going to double check and make sure my versions are up to date. Installed from the provided CD.

The motherboard spec states you can use either the DVI-D port or the HDMI port but not at the same time. I"m just checking to see that you don't have anything hooked up to the DVI-D port too.

MMORPG.com stopped responding for me right after I wrote that.

Also make sure your TV settings are set to accept HDMI input.

Yeah it doesn't allow simuntaneous signals through HDMI and DVI-D. I've hooked my main computer, PS3, and laptop all up to this TV through HDMI. It's got to be something computer side. ><

I've heard some TV's have a PC setting for the HDMI port, so even if the HDMI port on the TV is enabled if it isn't set to PC mode it won't display a picture, so make sure to go through those options thoroughly.

edit: Nevermind, didn't see that you had hooked your main computer up to it before.

Assuming you have some DVI connection that does work with it, have you tried poking around in the BIOS to see if there is some setting there for it?
