Asheron's Call?

I'm new to gaming and all as I mentioned in a post I made in General Discussion of General Categories so of course I wouldn't know what AC was. Is it similar to Everquest or something? Thanks for the help in advance.

There are two games of AC. There's AC1 and AC2. They are similar to EQ in some basic ways, like you can meet hundreds of players in a fantasy setting, but they are very different in gameplay.

My favorite is AC1 because it's easy to play solo, and it's not very level-dependant. It has a huge amount of detailed things to do, and a huge world to explore. There is no free trial, but you can buy it for $9.99 and download it. You can get it in The Turbine Store.

AC2 has a free trial that you can download at this site. But I would prefer to spend the 10 dollars on AC1.

A lot of people will recommend the AC1 gameplay over AC2 and for good reason.  However, AC2's gameplay is still pretty good and it is a very easy to learn game for someone who is new to MMORPGs.  I would recommend either of them.  If you must have great graphics, pick AC2, otherwise AC1 is probably your best bet.

i've just started p2p games and I am currently trying both AC1 and AC2, I think that AC2 is alot easier for beginners like myself as I am not sure of what I should do etc. If you're a beginner like me, choose AC2!

Is an easy game going to keep you playing? Probably not. There's a much larger learning curve for AC1 but once you get over it, you will probably be much happier.

As it says here, Computer Games Magazine said it best, "A technically excellent, but ultimately shallow and mechanical, experience."
