Is this like a star trek style game, lots of instancing and rails? Or more open like SWG?

Star Wars without open world pvp (pvp server option) would  immediately define which side of the fence I'm on with this game. I really hope they have something to it here.. and maybe something a little different as well.

As far as what can be done in Open PvP, there does seem to be terminals which give you objectives like kill 5 jedi opponents or something similar you can do for rewards, Not sure thats everything to it but thats one aspect beyond just. turn PvP on kill people get experience.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

From everything we've seen / hears so far it seems to be yet another lobby instancing railed mmorpg for yer casual first-time-mmorpg player.

Or just call it 'themepark MMORPG', that's shorter image

Hardly. What the public has been shown doesn't indicate anything of the sort.

    Damn this NDA.

Thats ok, I'm playing STO at the moment, and quite enjoying the stories. I'd prefer it to be more open, but its still quite playable - so if SWTOR actually IS like this then I dont think it will be too bad.
