Rift crashes

This game has been unplayable since Beta 2 for me due to crashes on character select and 5 minute crashes when the game finally works. I tried the trial again three days ago and the first day the game ran at around 50fps on ultra with no hiccups or crash problems, second and third day I can't even log in without crashing. Support won't respond to anything and won't even dignify me with a "try reinstalling the game" fix. This computer has been reformatted several times with updated drivers and reinstalls of Rift and it still remains unplayable.
Does anyone know any fixes that aren't beyond the regular obvious 'universal' answers?
Currently playing - FF14ARR
Previous games - SWG, World of Warcraft, ShadowBane, Warhammer, Age of Conan, Darkfall, Planetside Asheron's Call, Everquest, Everquest 2, Too many.
