Over 6 years now. And from what everyone said (on gamescom) the game allready looks more polished than most games in their post release stage.

I have feeling the game will not be out before spring 2012 , and maybe even later.

But most people are so pumped about the game, for over 2 years now.

Its starts to turn into annoyance.

I seriously dont know what are they waiting for...

Yah...the wait it killing me too...my insides are turning to goo...yadda yadda yadda. As much as I'd like to be jamming on GW2, 2 weeks ago, I'm gonna have to agree w/the folks who are saying it gets only one shot at release to be near-perfect and bug-free (if at all possible). If you think about it, this game is an investment for them. Not just an investment in money, but in time, effort, etc. There's no good reason to put all that at risk just to satisfy us folks (me included) who want it yestreday. Besides, it'll be just that much sweeter when it DOES release.

Whats with all the peopl wanting them to rush and release the game. You all complain to no end about games that lack content and say "they should have waited til it was ready" and then swirl your wine glasses around. but when a game actually has time to be made and tested, you want them to rush? maybe its not the same people..

But seriously, making a game takes a lot of time, and testing it for bugs (especially a massive game like this) takes a really long time. Thats why games like GTA, saints row, oblivion, fallout 3/new vegas are plauged with bugs. They are so massive that finding all the bugs would take up a ton of time. With an MMO though, finding the bugs is more important for obvious reasons.

Adelbern eh?  Should be nice to kill that bastard.

And I noticed the Duke as well.  I still remember my troubles doing the Barradin family urn quest when I first started playing.  Man it was tough with henchies and no elites lol

Yeah, I'd love the chance to spank that Monk for all the headaches she's caused me.

Remember this Alesia quote from the Norn Tournament?:

"People have told me that I would have made a better Warrior than a Monk, so I've come here seeking not to soothe the hurts, but cause them!"

Even back then, ArenaNet was nodding to players about Alesia's pathetic healing talents.  I could really see them throwing her back for us to smack around in style.

  • Has anyone heard and facts or rumours about how big Tyria will actually be? I can assume that it'll be fairly large as there are 80 levels and five races. But, I haven't read anything official yet.

    Any word?

    Good questions from the interviewer.

The "Endgame" answer is exactly spot on expressing the plethora of options for players, not just raid dungeon grinding for gear. A stack of related options and alternatives as well.

Re size: See User ID: MMO.Maverick sig for link to thread re world sizes: GW2 sure stacks up impressively. How much 3D space u/w takes up is a complicated addition to square miles total area comparison. ; )

Yeah? Well I've been waiting ever since I dwarven headbutted my way out of my mother in the late 80s! Suck on that, while I chug down this keg...

Seriously though, the more I read, the more I want (and daddy's been wanting baaa-aa-aaad...). The PvP and the way they are handling it sounds better than the regular "join a queue to join" other games have. And well... I can't be the only one who is dieing to take on said Ice Elemental with 100 players, I NEED to see that chaos...

I agree. I had hoped for a 2011 release. But they still have another class to reveal. In any case I already pre-ordered it at Gamestop so I'm good. Norn ranger with a bow and greatsword for the win XD

That being said, we are currently in closed alpha and haven't yet announced how we will be handling the closed beta, or invites to the closed beta process for Gw2 yet. We do plan to go into closed beta testing by the end of the year.

Thanks for a wonderful weekend in Cologne everyone, we had a fantastic time getting to meet so many wonderful fans over the last week. The entire Anet away team from GamesCom is home safe and we're all incredibly pumped to see you all in just a few days for PAX!

Also just to further tease all of you:

The boss I was talking about was NOT Duke Barradin....

Nice try though, I give you an A for effort but an F for lack of determination on your follow through.

There is very big difference when talking about Quests as simply "mission" "objective" "goal to achieve" and when talking about quests as mechanic.

Even if he said "quests" he meant simply a lot of objectives in DE there to do, not quests as in game mechanic. This is ridiculously obvious.

    Definition of QUEST

    1

    a : a jury of inquest b : investigation

    2

: an act or instance of seeking: a : pursuit, search b : a chivalrous enterprise in medieval romance usually involving an adventurous journey

    3

obsolete : a person or group of persons who search or make inquiry

    Examples of QUEST

    1. They went on a quest for gold.

    2. The team's quest to win a championship finally came to an end.

    3. He refuses to give up his quest to discover the truth.

    Origin of QUEST

Middle English, from Anglo-French queste, Vulgar Latin *quaesta, from Latin, feminine of quaestus, past participle of quaerere

    First Known Use: 14th century

Mini games hmm, AOC have mini games. Dungeons with story hmm.. WOW have storys with tons of dungeons. I cant understand that people are so excited about his manga game when we have games like  The secret world coming out or WOW who did that 1000 times better. Another Rift

... this game is a Japanese comic?

    ...

It seems you're a little confused.  Also, breaking a game down to the most basic concepts (You shoot a gun in Battlefield 3?  I shot a gun in Wolfenstein 3D.) makes comparisons pretty meaningless.

If you don't understand what's different about GW2, it doesn't make GW2 look bad, it just means you're uninformed.  A better person than me would explain to you in painstaking detail everything you're missing, but I'll just point you at the 'everything we know about GW2' thread.

The fact that you can say this game is another RIFT just shows how little research you have done, but go ahead keep spreading misinformation because you dislike the game. It is so much fun watching people waste their lives being ignorant!
