Hey all, going through a heavy case of burnout to the point it's really difficult to think of anything I really find fun about the actual gameplay in the genre, so I figured I'd pose a question since I haven't played all the MMOs out there:

 

What game(s) do you wish you'd played during its(their) prime?

 

and for those that did play those games:

 

What is your favorite memory from playing?

 

For me, I'm a bit disappointed I never tried pre-NGE SWG, also Asheron's Call.

Best moment must have been at the dervish camp in desert of ro. There was this Dark Elf NPC standing there amongst the pulls. Sometimes when you got a little too close you would pull him as well and all hell broke lose.

When I was high enough to kill him I would stand in his spot dressed the same. Then scare the living shit out of players camping that spot. I would run up the hill and they would leg it to the zone line yelling "train!". Fun times. This was before name tags became big neon signs over peoples heads.

Ultima Online...stealing someones mandrake and killing them for the first time with corp por. This was before red death/auto aim was in:)

Ultima Online (1998)

Logging into the game for the first time. Having nothing but a practice sword and 100 gold, and an entire world to explore and do anything I wanted to. No idea what to do or where to go.

FFXI back in the hayday (when I played it) was by far the best MMO ever. It wasn't my first MMO, but man the best game ever. period.

 

tried playing it about a year ago...just to dead
