I been trying to find a good gamingplatform next to steam. I already have a lot of games by steam but now ea left i am looking for a second good gamingplatform. I try origing but by those prices i can better get THE box in THE store and put
Why limit yourself to only one? With the requirements to run third party applications for gaming, it makes more sense to play them on more than one platform. If one platform drops for technical reasons, then you can still game on the others. Steam, for example, is much more stable than it was when it started, but they still have problems.
Good Old Games ~ Hosting a slew of older titles reconditioned to work on newer hardware, plus they sell new releases too. And the best part of their service is the stance on "no DRM" when bought through them.
Direct to Drive is good if you A. use a third party download client, B. have a credit card, and C. are willing to routinely deal with their customer support. You have a larger game selection and are often able to get games at a big discount. I still prefer Steam though because it's less buggy and it's generally far easier to use.
I'll second that site. Although they aren't a platform in the sense the OP means ive always had great speeds from them and some of their sales have been even better than Steam's.
The first one lets you donwload the game, you will still need to upgrade you PC to run the news titles.
While onlive streams you the video and take your input, this will work even on a very old PC.
Keep an eye out for gaikai when it releases, it works really great, played the dead space demo on it and had no lag, although it runs at a lower resolution but heck you don't need to pay for pc upgrades every 4 years so it's better.

Onlive also streams the games reliably at 2004 resolutions. You may not need to pay for upgrades but you will also be playing games how they were meant to be played... in the past.
For mmorpg's sometimes from some 3rd parties if there are discounts but I am not loyal , just choosing where is cheaper.
I don't like Steam becasue I don't feel like I own game I cannot sell it to someone, steam patches come in weird way ,and all those steam based limits and diffrent handling of stuff is rreally bad imho.
So nah I dont need any gamingplatform as I don't really see a point in them tbh.
Another thing is I don't play many titles so that's might be a reason.

Perhaps Onlive?
Onlive is very nice no dl. Not many games on yet. Try a single game and its kinda laggy guess thats why those boxes are not for sale in holland yet
I still use steam. I buy my EA games off of D2D or Impulse.
Then i link the shortcuts into my steam since 99% of the time you still get the overlay in those games.
Playing: Nothing
Looking forward to: Nothing

I like Good old Games, as well as onlive. The latter I've been pleasently surprised with, not much lag on my end with it btw.
