....and yes i do know how to spell "now".

I'm so friken bored. can't get into any of the current mmos. i know there are lots of people in the same boat. just waiting for SWTOR. this would be the perfect time to launch Tera, and get a good 3/4 months of box sales/subs from everyone just wanting to kill some time. i mean the game works, just use google translate or something and let us have at it.  who cares if the odd quests says "collect rising dragon in the morning rainbow".....we'll figure it out.

nobody is gonna care about Tera next year when SWTOR and GW2 will be out in full swing. i know i wont.

just do it.

don't think, feel.

use the force....of boredom.

Not playing a game where the quests are translated to a three year olds gibberish and the femal models "sqweek" everytime they swing a sword, not to mention the fabulous haircuts and designer fashions on the male models.  This game needs a hefty splash of Western before I even look at it.

i'v played KTera and the sqweek/female/male models/fashion are really no worse the Aion. as for the quests, who the hell reads quests anyways? kill X ammount of A, gather Y ammounts of B....we've all done it a million times.

GW2/SWTOR will be western enough, Tera does not need to also have a western feel.

If they launch Tera in North America now, it will likely fail, for pretty much the same reason DCUO failed. There just isn't enough to keep players occupied, once they reach max, which they can do in the 1st month or so. The Political System has yet to be fully implemented and tested and I doubt it has been fully localized in English.

So if you want Tera added to the long list of MMOs that have failed, due to being rushed out the door then so be it. You might as well kick up a fuss on the official forums and see whether they'll budge to your demands.

I got so bored of the crap that is out now and the crap that is coming out in the future that I started playing Ktera.  I'm lvl42 and still progressing & enjoying the game.

You can view my screens of my progression here at this link:  http://www.tera-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22004

BTW: this game is going to blow the doors off swtor :p

Great screens there. I'm always a bit of a sceptic regarding the asian games' art style, which are often a bit overdone for my taste. But it seems that the studios don't take it too far anymore -at least not when they aim for a western release, too.

Are the screens taken at max. settings? Can you drop some short info about the overall performance, perhaps your machine specs and resolution you play on? I'm a bit shy with the eyecandy-games recently, since Rift doesn't perform any good.

    Thank you.

I doubt it. Especially when the only thing going for it is an overhyped combat system with a game that has little depth..thus..the lack of attention it seems to be getting. Also, the graphics don't look all that great to me. I'm so bored with this type of artistry.

Hardly. It's just another Korean game offering nothing special. Sorry, there is something special - you can play a panda, wearing pink armor and fighting with a 20 yard long lance on foot.

Is that what that was? I thought it was a large squirrel lol.

I was under the impression this game was just a big flop. Aren't there already server merges in Korea?

Are you saying a game that has panda bears as a playable race isn't Western enough for you?

This game gonna end like AION. So sad it is it takes far to long many ppl know about this game for almost 3 years and its almost 1 year in korea out. By the time it comes out it wont stand a chance against SWTOr,GW 2 or the secret world. Another mmorpg ruined by bad marketing and publishers.

  • pedrostrikpedrostrik Member UncommonPosts: 396

no chances to this game on western since they postponed it to march 2012, its ruined, and after last pvp tournaments demos on gamescom and px GW2 will bash all mmos alive

I really wish they'd just give us subtitles and leave everything else alone.  That'd only take a week, and I'd enjoy it more, too..  and I really really wish more people felt that way I do about other cultures and how familiar isn't always better, and sometimes it can even be fun to hear things in other languages, even if it means a little extra reading.

..but that's so far fetched, it won't even be worth making an option for wierdos like me.  I'll be waitng an extra year, just to be stuck with the crappy westernized version, because most of my fellow westerners have such crappy taste :p

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

I agree with you, and thus for instance like to watch movies without dubs (with subtitles). However, for me as I think for many people, what is bothering is the graphic style of Korean MMOs, full of lush underage girls and smiling pandas. That is too much for me indeed.

I personally think Koreans should stick to making movies (they excel in that, their movies are much much better than the Hollywood crap you see these days).

For me there are two types of MMO.The "Wanna Be" and "The others".Fortunately TERA is one of the 3 "others "coming out in 2012.TERA has one of the most beautiful world I have seen since Age of Conan, second it has one of the best animations on the market and third if you like a good dungeon crawling TERA is your game.

Many are bitching about Koreans but Koreans devs are way way better in animation than any western devs period and I also think that the true next gen game will come from Korea not NA/EU.

Not being a fan of the Star Wars IP i can see plainly that SWTOR isn't really anything special. Probably just another rift (Well done WoW clone simply put). Now what i love are action games; spectacle fighters are some of the funnest games today i believe so this is probably my second most anticipated MMO after GW2.

Edit: GW2 and WH40k: DMO equally anticipated and THEN tera .

    Not likely.

Because it tends to work out so well when a game is released before it is ready?  Oh wait.

Why don't MMORPGs use soft launches? I cannot think of any negatives.

  • ShadowVlicanShadowVlican Member UncommonPosts: 158

i've only watched videos on youtube about this game

so far, i enjoy the graphics and the combat system (full character control)

wish more MMOs went with this type of combat instead of tab-select-hotkey auto targetting crap

They often do, with beta testing, or letting pre-orders get in early.

That is pretty much a summary of the Korean launch. Look where that got Bluehole xD. Release a game with crap endgame content and watch your player base deteriorate. Thats why they hope to get it right in the West in Spring 2012.

2 more days till second Korean Server merge~

Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.

Hmm, I guess what I had in mind (you pay only when it's ready/polished/has content) wasn't right then. Like some programs that everyone could download and after the beta period had ended you could pay for the program if you wanted to keep using it.

I agree, BlueHole knew what they were getting themselves into so they shouldn't have charged for an unfinished program (oops, happens more often than not).
