IMHO Mass Effect has the best storyline in Video Game history. I will be bold enough to say even better that FFVII. Bioware has some great story writers working for them. SWTOR will be awesome storywise.

**Raises plunger in slaute to upcoming MassEffect 3 and Dances with Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams! (soon to be Spectre Williams! )**

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

I will agree, ME 1 and 2 were both amazing games, right up there on my top ever list.  Both of them however, were made by the edmonton team to my knowledge.

WIth the subject matter that's not as failproof as one may think. We've all seen how easily Star Wars can be misrepresented. It's happened time and time again. Very few Star Wars properties have captured that same element that made the originals what they were. That's the major hurdle Bioware has ahead of them. Because regardless of hwo good their story ends up, if it fails to capture or misrepresents Star wars at too large a degree, the outcry will be.. well, more whine than you can imagine.

To SB fans, please stop making our demographic look bad.Stop invading threads that have nothing to do with sandboxes.

I agree with you here.  The problem I have with Bioware making an MMO is that it is just a bigger version of ME in the SW world.  I feel that I am playing a great single player game and for the most part, do not need friends to play with.  I can't see paying a monthly fee for a single player game.  I have no problem paying a subscription for an mmo, but I don't feel like I'm in an mmo.  If you don't need a world to run around in, then you should find great pleasure in TOR.  I preferred the worlds in SWG or the world in Asheron's Call.  I do wish TOR's combat mechanics were like ME though.  I'm not a fan of 3rd person, but it works well in ME.  I have played the first two through more than once and can't wait to get my hands on ME3.  In fact, being in TOR makes me want to go back and play ME and ME2 again.

One thing I hate though, is space combat on rails.  Check out Clone Wars Adventures at www.soe.com if you don't know what I mean.

Actually it's a bigger version of KotOR in the... world it's supposed to be in.  And it's hardly single player, you only need to search Google for TOR + PvP to see that.

Lol yeah. Basically ME to me was a poorer version of KOTOR with worse combat and less to do, but enough of the same flavor to keep me going. ME2 was like a poorer version of ME1 with worse combat and less to do, but enough of the same flavor to keep me going. DA2 was like a worse DA1 with, er, no flavor at all, and certainly not enough to keep me going.

Bioware is dropping fast :( SWTOR: jury is still out, but I'm going to hedge a bet and say I probably wont like it as much as KOTOR. Storywise however, I think it's likely to come close. That's at least one thing I know bioware can almost always do a decent job of.

I don't need to search Google.  Hands on tells me a better story.

if you feel like star wars is single player game well thats your opion i think its ok to have npcs but remeber not every one likes grouping so they gave that opion for npc characters. so yeah star wars has raids star wars has pvp and its open world i know friend has hands on the game so your words as empty as your soul :D. yep hes in beta........

I really do not understand how people see this correlation... SWTOR combat and Mass Effect combat are two waaaaaaay  different systems... If you are buying into the whole "mmo with story" sales pitch, me thinks you will be sadly disappointed.

No.. I am buying into almost 2 decades of awsome story telling by Bioware, an IP I loved before the 90s with the exception of KOTOR (better than the prequels), and a general lack of anything else interestng in the genre...wish it had combat like DCUO or AoC...but oh well :)

Rumour has it that Bioware Edmonton and Bioware Mythic have been helping out with SWTOR.

they have. mythic has alot of ther eold pvp people helping do pvp in tor. i have read that on dev blogs before.

so they have many experianced pvp designers doing pvp. i have head it in interviews also.

mass effect and dragon age both sell me on this game. im playing dragon age 2 now and im completly enthralled with it.

i have got mass effect 2 yet but i played some demo and got totally engrossed in the story and choice.

that alone to me will make tor worth the money.

Sorry, but I don't think I ever want to see a Mass Effect MMO.  People would ruin it.  Could you imagine running into such ME:online people as - Smexybeast, Pedofile (no not a mispelling), Crakakilla, etc. I'd rather not have my vision of ME tainted by such acts.  Also how would it play out? How would you turn ME into a MMO?  Turning ME into an MMO would be much harder then, turning KOTOR into MMO (aka TOR).

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

easy enough actually.  u take it set it 100 years after commander shepard with all the people and races in mass effect. u ban names like u just mentioned

i know some will sneak some crap it but thats mmo. a mass effect mmo would be set in a diffrent time and would actually work ok

that said alot of bioware fans wanna play tor to see bioware story play out in an mmo setting. mass effect and dragon age fans know how good bioware does story.

say what u will story to me will make all the diffrence in keeping subs in tor.
