detlikdetlik Member Posts: 76

Hi,

I am looking for F2P mmorpg but I dont want those games that recently became F2P and made only 50% of the game available for F2P players and if you want to enjoy whole game you must pay.

I recently started playing Eden Eternal and have been having a decent time in that.

You can obtain many classes on just one character, which is a pretty neat feature.

Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!

    hm... Lets see.

Mabinogi (but give this one a bit of time...theres been some issues as of late)

    Trickster Online

    Eden Eternal is quite good

Elsword if your into the sidescrolling action type

I enjoyed it, Megaten, you ever play the Shin Megami Tensei series...or the Persona series, or the DDS Series, ect ,ect.

Its an mmo that takes place...I believe in between Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2. Rather nice game, I suggest giving it a look.

Those are all I can think of as of now...good luck and have fun.

Playing APB and Eden Eternal right now while I wait on TOR.. Both are pretty good..

Been trying Dragon Nest as well, but I keep getting disconnected, or game freeze on loading screens, so I decided to wait for the next patch on this one..

Searched for ages for a free MMO to pass the time, been playing Allods online with a few mates and it is pretty decent - mainly for the high responsiveness, decent graphics, etc.

MMOHut's youtube channel will let you see the multitude of F2P MMO's out there and to get a viewing of the gameplay, etc.

Earth Eternal fits what you are looking for. It was out of business for a while, but it's back in beta getting worked on. Id highly recommend trying it out.

I will check all tips but I have two questions first is Runes of Magic good? And second does any mmorpg (even P2P) have combat like in DMC or other beat them up games? (simply interactive combat)

Runes of Magic is a poor mans version of WoW. Whether you like it or not depends on how much you like that sort of game.

Vindictus and Dragons Nest both have combat systems that are somewhat similar to DMC. In fact, Dragons Nest has probably the most enjoyable combat system I've ever played in an "MMO". Unfortunately, both games use hub systems and have gender locked classes.

If you like PvP, I'd personally recommend Dragons Nest, it's just a lot of fun to play.

Wow Vindictus looks truly awesome :) keep those recommendations coming :D and thanks everyone who helped me.

Just wanted to say Bloodline Champions is not an MMORPG its a MOBA and Fallen Earth isn't free though you can get a month free trial and if you go on AlienWare Arena you can get the full game for free while keys still exist, which at present they do, which will give you another month play so that gives you 2 months of free play plus the game for free, which is a good deal if ya wanna play it.

The free to play version of Everquest 2 isn't too bad. Granted you don't have the armor and spell choices that a subscriber has but you could bump it up to a silver acct for a 1 time fee of 10 dollars U.S if you decide you like the game.

this is imo the best "f2p" out there , silver eq2ext

lotro is my 2nd option :P

  • detlikdetlik Member Posts: 76

Everquest II and Lotro arent bad mmorpg, I even played them both when they were p2p but I hate those premium modules (in DDO you have most locations locked, in Lotro a lot of areas inacessible, not sure about EQ2) any more F2P mmorpg or someone wants to change my mind about those mmorpg? :)

Personally I think ROM is one of the better in Free to Play.  Primarily a quest grinder, very solid client, plenty of features including crafting and even player housing (apartment style).

Possibly the only negative I see is that it really needs a fairly fast computer / video to play.  In high population areas or in town I have problems that graphics slow down.  Setting view distance down helps a lot but then you can't see very much .

Don't forget the fact that it's entirely P2W. Pay $200 to frogster or $20 to the gold sellers for 1 set of gear.

    My 2 cents:

If you want games that are the less P2W possible for a F2P game I say:

AIKA (The only advantage item in the mall are refining ores with lesser fail percentage). Plus, AIKA has massive P2P battles. And, you get a nymph sidekick.

Metin2 (The no-fail enhancement items are dropped ingame. Probably no other F2P MMO has this). but its a grindfest. The combat is collision based, not as good as Vindictus or Dragon Nest but fun enough.

I would like to play Dragon Nest, Vindictus, Mabinogi, but i'm not on the zones served by Nexon and I'm angry at that fact...

Its been a while since i've played the game so i haven't kept up on any newer content. The game isn't horrible, Its a solid game with interesting raids and an interesting gearing system. Unfortunately the flaws are numerous and it'll become apparent the closer you are to endgame. First of all, like Korby said, the game is a cash cow. Everything you need to upgrade gear is aquired via the item shop only. You can trade gold for Diamonds but you're not going to have an easy time getting all of the gold just to get the item-shop items necessary to get a sub-par set of endgame gear. This doesn't include stats which if you're unable to actually do the raids required to get the best stats, you're going to end up only messing around with memento gear to use for stats (which there are nice stats you can get, but they wont be the best). Once you gear up enough to actually run endgame content without getting destroyed and being a leech on the party, you'll possibly have to regear several times before you're met with an acceptable set of gear.  Oh, and when that next expansion comes out that releases all that new content, get ready to pour more money into the game so you can upgrade that too.

If you went all cash shop getting the bare essentials, you'll easily spend over $200 on one set of gear. If you play the game for longer than 6 months, you'll probably regear 2 or 3 times. Forget selling old peices of modded gear for a decent price. You'll be lucky to get 20% of what you put into it. While the intensive cash shop is probably the most crippling thing about this game, it also suffers from poor coding. You'll likely have to remove spell effects in order to do endgame raids because of lag generated by the skill animations.

Not to even mention that the classes were EXTREMELY unbalanced when i played. Thankfully i chose the "OP" class before it became OP, and let me tell you, even in subpar gear i could do 30% of the raid DPS as 1 person, out of a 12 man raid. And these aren't against terrible gamers, the class was just THAT OP. They've done alot to try to balance it, but unfortunately its probably still OP because of how they calculated DPS vs Weapon speed or something like that. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Warden class was absolutely useless. Unfortunately a few people in my guild had rolled warden when it came out and didn't realize how crappy the class actually was until we got to endgame since it scaled VERY poorly with gear. We'd just take them on runs as comic relief and so we can say that we cleared the raid with a warden. I mean, my scout wasn't even that well of geared, but eventually i could duo alot of the bosses in the 12 man raids because of how ridiculous the gear and class balancing was.

Its a shame since the game isn't actually that bad. The questing is somewhat interesting, Pretty much all the instances and raids were pretty fun and they certainly knew how to design encounters that weren't just tank n spank. There were lots of stuff you can do to kill time, dailies, minigames, gathering, planting, crafting, etc. But the way they nickle and dimed the playerbase (atleast when i played) simply eventually destroyed the endgame population. Perhaps thats their plan, to flush out all the endgame geared players so that a new generation of players comes in with no experience and has to buy their way to the top again. Who knows, everyone i know that i stayed in touch with from that game abandon shipped eventually. If they made significant changes to the cash shop and made upgrading gear more avaiable without paying substantial amounts of money (And don't say the token system because that sucked for anything other than the occassional charge) It might be salvagable to be one of the best f2p games. Unfortunately i highly doubt that will ever happen.

I still harness alot of rage for this game since i started playing in CB and managed to make it all the way to Chapter 3. I saw the potential this game had but the greedy publishers decided that profit margin was better than having a balanced and fun game. Eventually even the things they did right became poorly done (The later ch.3 dungeons for example).

TL;DR : Expensive game is expensive. Unbalanced classes are unbalanced. Probably not worth your time/money at this point.
