Tank/healer combo...

My brother and I are coming back to EQ2. It's been quite awhile and the last time we played, we both played melee dps.  We are looking to start a Tank/Healer combo so all we have to look for is DPS.  My question to you loyal EQ2 fans is what are some good duo combinations based on the goal of duoing and eventually doing dunegons.  We are looking to start from scratch.  We will both have P2P accounts.  Thanks.

EQ2 is complicated and balanced enough that you are going to get a bunch of different answers to this. In other words, there really are a bunch of good combos. In my personal opinion, based on leveling with a friend, and testing a few combos early on until we picked one, I'd recommend Fury and Berserker.

    Why?

For a healer Fury does decent damage. Probably not considered the best healer, but they can hold their own.

Berserker does decent damage for being able to also take a good bit of damage. Also, Berserker does good AoE, so you will be able to just jump in and take out rooms of even level mobs as a duo.

So as a duo you really have it all with that combos, Aggro, DPS, AoE, survivability.

Well, me and my wife did a Shadow Knight (me) and Inquisitor (her).  We both wore plate, which I crafted!  My wife speced into melee DPS and provided some nice buffs.  She could put out a beating once she had all her CAs from the AA trees.

We were both able to start in the same area as we were both Dark Elves.  We duo'd dungeons with our MC gear! It was pretty good!
