I'll be honest, I kinda stopped following GW 2 news, because it's taking forever for ANet to release GW 2. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I want the game to be as poliished as it gets. What I was really looking forward to though was the "big surprice" that ANet was gonna reveal at PAX Prime. So what was the "big surprice"? Like I said I stopped following every single news, so if anybody was nice enough and point me in the right direction I'd be very thankful.

That would be awesome but i think more of a race it would be a profession...

Yeah like above it was focusing on the PvP plus player hosted pvp cropped up, also showing the new boss.

I think I'm right in saying that one of the interviews mentioned closed beta being before the end of the year as well.

Previous thread already covered this. There was not supposed to be a big surprise.

I will borrow Nadia's link to Arenanet's community manager's response to the matter.

Didn't they say it was a 'poor choice of words' ?

Te big surprise was at an afterparty behind closed doors...... where they showed intimite interracial scenes.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Big surprise was that they messed up the wording and there was no "real" surprise.

They specifically mentioned a big surprise for PAX. Everything they showed at PAX was already shown in Germany for GameCom... save for the tournament. My conclusion, the tournament was the surprise.

Where did they promise a big surprise? Everything I've read from Arenanet was just the opposite, no big surprises at either con. Are you purhaps thinking of NC Soft's big announcment, which didn't have anything to do with Guild Wars 2?

NCSoft said they have a big surprise announcement at Gamescom and every drooling GW2 fanboy interpreted that as "we will announce the release/beta date at gamescom for gw2" while in fact it was Wildstar.

PvP has pretty huge announcement but it was no surprise.
