Worldwide Servers?

So, Im kinda new to the forums of MMORPG, and im wondering. Since I've been following Guild Wars 2 for a few months now and im kinda excited, but the one thing is are server lags. I stay in the South-East Asia region, and most big MMOs don't come this far for servers, mostly likely due to *ahem* piracy. So I was wondering, would there be a dedicated Asian server for GW2, or am I gonna have to compensate for NA West or Europe Servers?

I hoping they do, and will be suprised if they don't create a Oceanic server.

Im thinking they will start with Euro and Western servers when the game first launches and then expand over.

I'm really hoping for an oceanic server because I live in NZ but we always seem to be forgotten about so I wouldn't count on it. The only MMO I've played that had an oceanic server was warhammer: age of reckoning but that shut down...

Guild Wars has international and Asian districts so I would think GW2 would as well.I am assuming that districts are servers so ...

This is speculation, but I think there will be Asian servers.

NCSoft, the publisher of GW2, is a Korean company.  They have 3 MMOs that are big in Asia (Lineage 1 & 2 and Aion).  It seems absolutely impossible to me that they won't heavily market GW2 in Asia.  Aion has 3 million or so subscribers in Asia and not a whole lot in the west.  Even WoW, the most popular MMO in the west, has half their subscribers coming from Asia.

Maybe if ArenaNet was a small indie company I'd say no due to lack of resources, but backed up by NCSoft, they'll definitely have the means to establish a major presence there.

Also, GW2 seems to be going for a balanced, skill based, e-sport style PVP.  If League of Legends is any indication, this is more popular in Europe and Asia than in North America.  I would imagine the last thing they'd want to do would be to have latency be a major factor.

I'm wishing for an Asian server as well as I migrated to Southeast Asia. One of the local Asian server would have to be an English-speaking zone as opposed to wholly Korean, Chinese or Japanese.

Anet will first focus on America (their home market) and Europe (the majority of GW1's fanbase) however it seems highly likely that Asia will recieve it's needed attention sometime after release.

GW1 apparently on opening day had servers for America, Europe, Asia (Korea, China) as well as a multi-territory "International" server.  A Japan server was added later.

If that doesn't lay the OP's fears to rest, not sure what will.
