I downloaded a trial of GW. If I decide to buy it will I be able to keep the same character?

Yeah, no problem. Just use the same account.
If you buy the game from a store you write in the keys in the start menu, or you can just buy it in the online shop.

This is a serious question, but what games DON'T let you keep trial characters?
