You can flame and troll the company all you want, but in the end all your post does is help bump the thread for others to notice the interest in the IP. So I imagine overall the company would thank you for the short-sighted perspective.

Just because he posted, is proof that he is interested in the game? Some people just make me go "wow!!!".

Even though the number is sorta meaningless it is a good marketing tool.

People that haven`t tried it yet will now have more incentive to do so perhaps when they read it. (and find out themselves its not really worth your time i guess)

Oh really this whole discussion is meaningless.

Okay let's assume he had 5 mln registered accounts. How many actually play this game? 5%? 10%?

All browser based games and f2p games have alot of registered users.

Bah even P2P games have alot registered but not used anymore accounts.

How many registered accounts does WoW have? 50 mln? 80 mln?

Or Warhammer Online ? It has only 6 servers now so low amount of players. But let's imagine how many accounts were registered from the start in this game? 2 mln? 5 mln?

    Really those number don't matter.

In Asia in F2P games , what is shown that matter is PCU. This mean Peak Concurrent Users for certain month.

I have many accounts created in many f2p / browser games that I havent touched in months/ years and I never will log on them again , but yeah I am counted in those 5 million users... lol You usually cannot delete this account even if you would want to.

See Lotro for example , it is impossible now to delete this account. No option like that , even if you would state that you never want to lay again. You can delete your characters but you cannot delete your account.

    Have a brain people.

You know I really get tired of this drivel.  Has MMORPG sunk so low that it has to be a marketing shill for bad games, announcing meaningless numbers for them?  Anyone with one brain cell knows that these numbers are complete nonsense.

I think that when you've got a site that needs MMO news to post up, you'll announce whatever the press releases give you.

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.
