They are being honest about the quality of the game. MO has alot of things to improve on. And not being a programmer or part of Starvault myself I dont know if they can ever overcome the things that still need work.
I just cancelled my sub after 7 months with 2 accounts due to I got tired of them not fixing exploitable aspects of the game in particular. But would possibly return if they do get fixed.
I dont hold any animosity towards Starvault like some people(especially on this website) have and still wish them the best.
I dont see what the debate about Mortal is here. There are problems and they need to fix them. The game can be very fun and the realism is awesome until you get tired of the what it currently has available to do or you get tired of the bugs or exploiters, especially if you find a community in the game that works well together. Time will tell.
Because some people think MO and SV are paragons of game development, and post things here that are not true (this patch has no bugs!!) in an effort to get people to play.
SV also openly admits to using viral marketing techniques. which many people believe involves unethical practices. Since the official MO forums are heavily censored, honest debate moved here in an effort to counter that.
That video makes the game look pretty awful, like it should be ashamed to charge a subscription fee awful.
The combat looks terrible, poor animations, no sense of collision detection or anything amounting to hit detection or hit indicators.
I got caught up in the hype and expectations for Mortal Online when it came out and was utterly disappointed, it looks as bad as ever.
There aren't a lot of flashy effects, at least not like there are in other games, in which every class' attack has some sort of sparkly spell effect (even the supposedly non-magic classes). I like that about MO - melee fighting looks and feels like melee fighting, not like something out of DBZ.
To me, combat in MO has the most visceral and "realistic" feel of any MMO I've played. The AI absolutely needs work, which is supposed to be one of the higher priorities for SV right now.
People who play right now are in love with the concept of Mortal Online, the vision, and the existing aspects of the game that work well and can overlook the bugs and bad programming that occur.
The question is, how long can the individual put up with said bugs, lengthy programming schedule, and poor execution.
So being a recent player who quit recently, I can see both sides of this. Yes it is an awesome game conceptually and there are things about MO that make it truly a unique experience but at a certain point the bugs and non-development/fixing can wain on you overtaking the Vision-gasm of MO.

How is that? In my world people dont warp from one location to the next. I'm sure you love it based on the visceral statement, but i just dont see it.
Yeah I don't see it either. Nothing about the combat looks visceral or realistic. And the mob AI...laughable. I think a component of visceral and/or realistic combat has to be mob AI. As well as variety of moves and abilities (which there apperas to be little) as well as anything resembling collision detection between mobs and players, as well as graphical effects to indicate damage on mobs (saw somthing that looked like tiny low particle, low detail blood effects that reminded me of Asheron's Call). I could come up with more but I won't bother. It looks as boring as it felt back when I played it.

Overall, I liked the video.
Sorry I do not see anything visceral or realistic about mobs warping, floating, walking through walls, walking inside of you, running from person to person like a pinball, falling through the floor, flying, and just plain standing there while you beat on them. And lets not even get started on the prediction,,,

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
