SV has released the winner of the Screenshot of the Month for August, and no surprise, it's:

I say no surprise, in that this picture was also featured on Massively's "One Shots" a few weeks ago.

    yea no real suprise here i guess, beat my pic but it certainly was a ncie looking picture and deserved to win.

    there are 2 types of mmo, imitators and innovaters.

    Volumetric haze.  Very cool lighting effect.

    A great picture that really shows off how beatiful Mortal Online graphics are.

    Light is something that is handled really well with nights being realistically dark and then sun blinding you if you stare at it.

    Wow I must say that is an amazing picture that really shows off this game.

    I can safely say that Mortal Online is the best looking MMO out there by far. Seriously try going riding in the planes late at night and watch the sun come up it is a very nice experience.

    Agreed.

    I can't think of a game with better graphics on the market at the moment.

    I think with the new territorial control system this game is going to really mop up on the "Sandbox" front. 

    It just needs the remaining bugs ironing out and to make sure the massive battles are totally viable then it should be all systems go for MO!

    yea i have been playing mo for a whole year and only recently have i managed to go explore the south east area of the current game world (due to wessex siege) quite often i was a little puzzled as to people saying how beautiful the view distance and game world is but i guess i was jsut used to it. Recently thoguh i was reminded of that fact myself when i came across views like the one below, it just reminded me of the feelings from beta when i could look at a monutain and think, im gonig to go climb that.

    Great picture Deathshrowd.

    The draw distance in this game is great and I do really love the fact that you can theoritically climb every mountain you see. I would still like the movement of climbing not to be so jerky and for it simply not allow you to climb rather than screen jerk but I have not seen a world on the scale of Nave that you can explore. Or for that matter a world where you actually want to explore it !
