these days, i really cant think of a reason to go with a standard ATX board. what are the benefits of a standard ATX board that you cant get in a microATX?
95% of us dont use SLi/Xfire, we use onboard sound/NIC, occationally, we even use onboard RAID controller... mATX boards can do limited overclocking, have USB3/SATA3, and pretty much do everything its big brother can do these days... the only justification of NOT going to an ITX board is to get the extra ram slots on the mATX....
so, what ARE the benefits of a standard ATX board these days?

I stopped buying ATX boards & large tower cases a long time ago, the cost is just too great for extra PCI slots that I don't need. Besides there are quite a few matx boards that support cross/sli so thats not a factor either.
So I guess it comes down to more pci slots and higher OC headroom.
