For all of the problems there were (are?) in this game I still had many adventures I remember fondly to this day. And I believe we all have those moments that shall ever be ingrained into our memories. I would really like to hear what everyone else who has played Horizons has to say with that distant look of better days in their eyes.
And if there is anyone out there that is still playing Horizons please comment on the state of the game, have they fixed most of the lag issues? Have they moved graphics processing off the CPU and moved to the Graphics processor? Do you think this game will survive and is it worth coming back to?
My curiosity was always stronger than my sense of caution, and luckily for me I found a group of friends with the same infliction. Why I remember fondly many times were we only barely escaped or were transported back to our home binding points after an exploration that had gotten us into more than we could handle. Why there was a Frost Ogre fortress that I do not believe I have ever seen all of (and would gladly incur more life debt to discover all of its secrets) but have more times than I can count rushed into the fray in hopes of finally uncovering its mystery. But the most terrifying and rewarding moment would definitely have to be when my trusted companion and I walked into a crater at the top of a mountain. As we crested the top of the ridge a great heat washed over us right before we saw the biggest ugliest creature ever. We had run into the lair of a fire ogre. I swear it had to be at least twenty feet tall, and made of fire. Luckily we both had magically enhanced weapons, or we would surely have perished. The ensuing battle was fierce, and if not for the resurrection spells at our disposal we would both surely have been transported back to the other side of the continent. But my feeling of exultation as we landed the deathblow to the fiery fiend will never be forgotten. I threw back my head and let loose a mighty roar of victory.

hi, i liked Horizons untill 2 days left in beta when they completely changed them. i still bought the game and played the dragon, but with all the changes they kept hitting dragons with and the screwed up tradeskills for dragons, i got feed up and left. the great and glorious bowman sent a form letter asking me to retry the game after i had left for about 3 or 4 months but didnt offer a trail of any kind, just comeback and see how we have fixed things. i wrote said if i get a free 7 day trail i will retry the game you have messed up so badly bowman, i havent heard from him or game since, lol
I still play from day one and still love HZ.
Many people left, but many join us.
Things have changed alot lately and if you played a few months ago, it's almost a new product.
I don't know where to start to say he is wrong. The game is worse now than at any other time in its history. Just try the free trial but becareful I hear it still charges you way before the 7 days is up. Even if you cancel it may still charge you. Now there is hardly anyone playing so the lag is not as bad but it is still there. Plus they never fixed the lag issues all they did was have less players login which cured the lag some what. So if they do get a bunch of players to come back the lag will jump right back and bite you all on the rear.
Also yes the game changed and if you read the community board you will see most liked the old game way more than the game that is there now. This game is done and needs to be put to rest.
Take no thought of who is right or wrong or who is better than. Be not for or against.

My best memory of the game is shooting a skeleton at long range, watching it run away scared and then realizing that it was getting 6 more skeletons to help it kill me. I died at the skele charge. The AI in HZ was great.
