Hey fellow gamers!
Guild Wars 2 is right now one of the most hyped MMORPGs out there, and it's obvious that many of the mmo fans are looking for news and other information regarding GW2.
I'm a huge fan myself and I was bothered by the fact that there wasn't a single simple and clear site, where I can get all the new information easily. Therefore, me and my friend started our own page, which is located at www.gw2camp.com. It isn't just a random site, but we're doing this so that the fansite could become a large site that has guides, videos and more to offer. The goal is to make a site where the players will come for news and help even after the game has been released.
We have been running the site for just over a month and really any help would be awesome. Just visit or comment on our posts - it would be awesome of you.
Also if you want to write something on your own, write an article about anything regarding Guild Wars 2 (why you want to play, compare it with other games, talk about the races, share you opinion, etc.). We're trying to create a site where anyone can write almost anything. The goal is to make a fansite for the fans by the fans.
Thank you! Visit the www.gw2camp.com and don't forget to tell your friends about it

That's a very nice looking site. Have you seen the thread here called "Everything We Know About Guild Wars 2?" Let me link it for you. It might prove useful.

It's a good start but it's no better than the main GW2 website. Need much more info on all the things people will do in GW2 like: Dungeons, Dynamic Events, Activities, Crafting, Skill & Trait Acquisition, etc.
The biggest community is gw2guru and they are quite quick with news: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/
And the best collection of knowledge about the game is the wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page
A lot of people complain about the moderation at GW2Guru. I don't go there myself but it's enough that I've been meaning to say that someone needs to step up and make a website with a much more open moderation policy, one that allows for dissenting opinions and is very open about why threads/posts need to be deleted or locked.
I don't know if you even have forums or whether they're only visible to people who are logged in, but that might be something worth considering implementing and marketing.

Thanks for that tid bit and can i compliment your signature quote? Nice
I've heard the exact same thing about GW2Guru which is why I won't visit their site. @ the OP: that is a mighty fine website you have there. I know that, right now, you're limited to the same/similar news that everyone else is, but I like the way your site is laid out. I think I might just give it a spin!
Good job on the site dude,i see lots of videos.Videos are the best ,they say way more than just chatting about a game or listening to someone else hype it up.
I wish this site posted more videos and not just when advertisers come knocking.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
mmo-champion.com now has a dedicated section on their forums for GW2.
Yes, I actually remember reading it before. Thanks for pointing it out!
We have been focusing more on the news and footage of the game for now. So, yes, I agree the information tab is pretty basic at the moment. It would probably make more sense to write about dungeons and crafting, etc. when the game is in beta and we have more information, but I'll try to look into that - obviously the things you named are all important and should be covered for people who don't know anything about them.
I agree, they are both great sites! But they are very specific in their own way. I want to make a fansite where everything important is easy to find and understand. Accessibility is the goal!
It's certainly not easy to enter the Guru community as a newcomer. I've noticed that myself.
The reason why you didn't find any forums on GW2Camp is because we don't have one. We decided to launch the site without one and implement it later. I guess, we wanted to keep things simple in the beginning. Of course it could be added! Do you think it should be done?
Without actually having the option to play the game, does limit what we can post. No point writing a guide based on a demo really Hopefully once the beta is launched, there's more to write about.
Videos are great indeed. Gameplay footage is what people want the most in my opinion. There's a lot of that on the Internet, but we try to post only those with better quality. It's not fun to watch a blurry shakycam version of any game
Very nice and polished work. It does a good job in featuring races and Professions. Short and accessable. And I agree on information about major game systems, maybe with some graphics that explain the functionality of Dynamic Event Chains and co.
The sixth's tab "Guild Wars2" - hit space^^. Also the professions Tab could need some work, the typography looks cut, I guess^^
Good Job though^^
Hmm, I signed up to the site and can't figure out how to change my account info...I don't want my real name showing when I make a post....:P
lol, fixed it. Thanks
Should be okay now. It was using the "name" instead of "username" for comments. :S
Love the Ascalon post. Never got to Guild Wars1 myself. I prefered WoW in that time.
And the site now has forums too.
You know I really hate people like you OP.
Here I am... doing my best to continue on with the day to day responsibilities that are my life. Meanwhile trying to ignore the fact that the wait for this game is eating up my insides like a cancer made of awesome. Then some asshole like you comes along and compiles all the awesome that is guild wars 2 into one convenient bucket for me to slober into. You know some of us have shit to do... some of us have families damnit. So maybe next time you should have some consideration for others before you concentrate that much awesome into one place. ...... Well the blood and the gnashing of teeth is on your hands now buddy.
I dont know how you sleep at night....

I feel you man! I think I have the lighter version (lucky me), but damn, you kind of have the worse case scenario! And there is no cure other than the release. We're doomed I say, we're doooooomed!!!
This
Looks pretty good.
But I'd really change the blue bar to some other colour, it clashes badly with the rest of your colour scheme.
Otherwise pretty impressive for being made by two people.

Resistance is futile.

You're mad at me, bro?!
How do you think my life is going! So many sleepless nights filled with heavy thoughts of how awesome GW2 is going to be. I can't sleep, I cant eat, I can't rest - the only thing I can manage is to work on my site and pray for the pain to stop.
It's a sad existence of misery... but hey, it's the only one that keeps me going
Thanks! About the color not fitting - that's news to me. I really like the blue myself :O
You think thats pathetic... i spend a massive chunk of my day just watching guild wars 2 video... some of them ive seen several times before but i watch it again anyway. Skip to the parts where the shatterer roars right at the damn screen or some gaurdian straight owning bitches in PvP. I try to do other things... ya know. Play some minecraft... talk to friends... do college work... but all i can find the motivation to do is read, watch, and bath in guild wars 2 info... What class am I gonna play? What classes are my friends gonna play? If i was this class what setup would i use?
All im saying is that there are some very very low things that i would do right now to get my hands on that damn game. Terrible... unspeakable things.
