crit in professions question

ok so does a crit only affect the crop yield, not the rares?
does it give you a better rare chance?
aka would criting on a dragons breath pipeweed farm give me a better chance at more seeds or simply higher crop yield?

Far as I know, the guaranteed crit that you get off the purchaseable seeds only increases the crop yield, but the yield of individual crops has nothing to do with rare seed drop rate. Some people have claimed otherwise, but I have never noticed a difference in drop rates during those lengthy farm grinds that the profession is known for.
It might be they hadn't intended the crit bonus to effect drop but it worked out that way for some reason. When I do well-tended fields I used to get 50 food crit items per 100 fields, give or take and 25 dye drops. Post Isengard it seems to have declined to 15% or so dye crit, 45% for food but I haven't done enough farming to know if that was just a bad day.
Tier 7 is a whole other bag of bolts.
