After following this game like a starving rabid rancor since it was announced and applying for beta minutes after they allowed people to I finally got an invite. My neighborhood probably heard my squee! - but it was a deep, manly squee... so it's cool. Woot!
Signed up on their site day one, active on their forums, pre-ordered and registered on their site in first 2 hours of availability and have active Orgin/EA account too.
Just got my re-invite from the first weekend test. I am not as excited this time though. Last time was a holiday weekend and I was off all three days. This time I have to work all three days and have a birthday dinner to go to. I might be able to squeeze 20 hours and still function at work. Beggars can't be choosers though I guess. So it's still all good.

The only people getting invites should be from the pool of 500k preorders Bioware has at the moment. Handing out random invites to people who just signed up and didn't give you any money towards the development of your game is just bad form.
The preorders will for sure buy, the people who only applied for teh beta are still undecided, it makes more sense to offer it to the one without preorder, it can improve your sales. Remember it's a beta butit's a markting move too.
Yep got my second invite ( tested the first weekend 1 month ago ) .
Really? I thought once you had participated in 1, your name got taken off of the list for beta weekends
There's a long explanation posted on the main site why they reinvited the September beta weekend Squadron back again. Basically it was to make up for all the trouble people had getting RSVPed and not being able to play at all in a lot of cases. Plus no one really got to play on the Monday night because of horrific latency.
I am a Squadron 1020 beta weekend tester and I got my invite for this coming weekend earlier today. Downloading right now.
Edit: Just want to point out real quick that nothing I posted above there is something that Stephen Reid or another Bioware person hasn't posted on the public forums before, including the "code names" of the beta phases, so none of that is NDA breaking...

Why the hell is everyone saying that people who didn't preorder are the ones getting invited? I've been signed up to the TOR forums since the beginning, and I preordered the first day it was available. I got an invite roughly two months ago now (exact same situation for someone in my guild). All of you are wrong.

Only problem with that logic is that you run the risk of making decisions based on feedback from potential customers that may not gel with your current customers (preorders) and risk their continued support (subs) and even sale (preorder) since we will have a head start and grace period during which we may still cancel.
Just sayin...
Cheers!

Really , I would send out to the opposite to increase the playerbase ....... The Pre Order people are hooked. Giving non pre order people a chance increases the chance they some will decide to play for real.

Looks like theres is euro invites this time, im downloading he client and it gives the start times and days for usa and paris/berlin times.
Probably they are increasing the amount of players. So they reinvite the first ones and then add more to the pool.
