Any MMO worth playing anymore??

Well it seems that MMO's all have their time to shine. WoW for me was Pre-BC and a little bit of BC. I played Conquer Online and really enjoyed it back in 06/07/08, everyone knew eachother in game, the economy was good, guild system was good; now its run by egyptians and you have to use the cash shop when before you only chose to if you wanted extra things. Ive played AoC, WAR, and alot of others. I played RIFT the month it came out and enjoyed it but there was a huge lack of end game and all the weapons and armor were pretty much the same so i dont know if they fixed that. I played EVE and really enjoyed it but never was able to find a good group of people to vent/skype with so it became pretty confusing. I played FFXI and enjoyed it but once again couldnt find a group to play with so i never progressed. Im looking to get back into one of those three or another one thats really good. Im looking for an MMO thats at its shining point. I dont care if its F2P or P2P with a little cash shop, Im just looking for a pretty much solid MMO with a good, active community and economy, and great pvp.

Hey, Play Ace: Online, the game great and the developers are still bringing out content. The game is a sci-fi aircombat mmo you can find the client here ace.subagames.com that's where I play, I'm on BCU (the nation I picked) The next episode is coming out soon as well! which is basically an expansion.

I recently stopped playing MMOs for a while. A lot of games these days pander to the lazy, even my favorite game Final Fantasy XI made some massive changes that made the game too easy as its core. So, with that in mind I'll just play single player games now. MMOs seem to try to be pay-to-play-single-player games anyway, I might as well enjoy them without the push of buying items from a shop or a paid subscription.

Well I agree unfortunetally. I don't see good MMORPG on the market atm.

Many good mmorpg's went for solo-play experience with grind in a group at end game.

They also became way too easy and convenient. Because of that boring. Just compare f.e. Lotro at release and current Lotro. Isengard expansion is like 100% solo-content for now. If you try to do it in group , there are solo mandatory instances / quests so you group get split up. Not to mention that doing it in group it very NOT satisfying becasue it make already too easy content , laughably easy.

While at release certain parts of content needed for people to cooperate.

Well game just changed , they added bunch of instanced dungeons / tool for instant teleportation to those instances , added barter system to grind barter medallions ,marks ,etc - so kinda changed over years to exactly what I do NOT like.

For me personally f2p/freemium model does not work as well, but it is just matter of preference.

So I am not playing any mmorpg atm and unfortunetally I cannot recommend any. Sorry. Hope you find good one though.

I am sticking to single player games lately , there is The Witcher 2 and Dark Souls , both are interesting and ARE challenging , contrary to way way way too easy especially in open world , modern mmorpg's.

I still spend time on few mmorpg's sites , waiting for some 2012 titles (ArcheAge and GW2) , if any of those games won't offer diffrent game experience and fair business model at same time , I am done with hanging out at mmorpg sites as well.

Maybe will check every year or two , to check if any change in mmorpg industry , maybe not.

Anyway , hope you find something for you OP.

There's definetly some MMO's worth playing. I think your going through what a lot of others are after the years of cookie-cutter MMOs. Only advice that I can give is try the MMO that goes against the norm. Those being EVE, Glitch, Wurm, Mabinogi, Vindicitus...I'd reccomend FFXIV too, since the only reason you didn't like XI was having trouble finding a group. It's got the same feel, but you can level solo more easily.

Judging by his Avatar, I'm gonna say FFXIV?

But I agree with him fully, There are alot worth playing, but most mmo's are such cookie cutter garbage, it's depressing.

I love FFXI myself, the group thing wasn't a problem for me, I was playing for years and never really had troubles in the sense of getting a groups or parties.

I suggest giving ACE:Online a try, it is really unique, you fly a ship (called gears) the world is fully 3d and there is HUGE pvp dog fight battles! The game feels like a living breathing world, similar to EVE, the big difference though is you can still join ACE and have a chance as it is really newbie friendly.
