Does anyone know if there will be Guild Alliances? Similar to the first Guild Wars or even the Guild Alliance system in DAoC? I know you can belong to multiple guilds on one character.
When the game releases I thought it would be a cool idea to make a whole bunch of different guilds such as a PvP guild, a PvE guild, a leveling guild and even a guild for each proffession and a master guild for everyone to join and represent. This only works if they can all be allied together as to stream many different channels together for people to get whatever help/info they might possibly need.
So, have they announced Guild Alliances?

They haven't said a lot about guilds yet so we don't know.
I'm certain that at some point they may introduce alliances once they figure out how people handle being member of multiple guilds at once.
Even if they dont, I'm sure you'll get them anyways from having one large super guild, and its little cronie, companion, parasititic, whatever you want to call them guilds. You'll have the large guild filled with guild leaders, and there guilds. This of course, will lead to some interesting political things in which you'll have several major WvWvW guilds constantly trying to attack, manipulate, control, and possibly destroy the other. Kinda like the guilds in runescape in pvp before they brought wildy back. This can also work with big merchant/ crafting guilds, like back in medieval times when you had Merchant Guilds, Textile guilds, etc constantly battling for power and control. This is the reason why I hope Anet doesn't add it into the game, it'll make everything to simpleand boring. It'll be fun to here all the Anti-"Big Guild" Protests and the politics behind it, with Anet possibly having to break some up because they have become to big.

Honestly I hope not, I don't play a game to get into politics. Sounds like a headache, and this is coming from someone who is interested in politics in real life.
