They have housing its your ship. People will live on there ships its the players houseing. I hope they allow us to customize the interior not just weapos armor and things in a new expansion though.

Guild ships they want to do from what ive read on forums. Personally i just wanna be able to play tor.I want more companions story things like that added with any expac. For a patch i dont reallyc are. They can add anything that makes the game more fun while fixing whatever bugs make it past testing.

What I want:  Open space gameplay

What we'll probably get:  More of the same

    :)

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

I would of voted more sandbox, but I honestly think thats like wanting more yellow in my blue....But I don't want it to turn green...It's not happening, and from what I know, I don't see how it could be done, with companions and everything else...They would have to do a major reworking imo.

So I opted for the more rational....More PvP objectives, scenarios, pvp worlds, whatever....I find that is doable and fits the game more.

I think the best and easiet thing for them to do would be to add and open up space to be free roam.

After you've done all you can do, gone from planet to planet in what ever order the game directs you to, they could/should open it up to be free roam (probably still be some devided locations, but warp speeding to other galaxies or whatever could be and acceptable accuse for deviding portions).

There would be no harm done by allowing it at that point, it would of course add in some oppertunity for new gameplay types/modes/ship PvP/etc to be set in motion to keep a player entertained longer than any new content would, and really.. it would be a lot easier to do than to add/create entire new planets or content to fit into the current worlds and story.

    Went with more content.

I am buying a copy due to it being a BW story based game. The more content of that nature they deliver, the happier I will be.

Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

my vote was for other, because   "This poll sucks, it doesn't even have *an apropriate selection of options conveniently grouped together.  I want jump to lightspeed... er, i mean real space content, more races, (i mean real ones like in  the Mos Eisly cantina, not more humans suffering from varying degrees of ugly) and same sex wookie romances.

    Hey DP,

Just want to commend you for a good poll.

Bonus points for using the term Space "Gameplay" not Space "Combat".

I voted for space content, but have to give a disclaimer that i assume it means "real" space content, not "more star fox".   :)

    cheers.

To be honest, once you have a decent number of votes (or once you see the poll has completely stagnated) you should actually mail it to Bioware. Having tested the game, and been on a face to face talk with their representatives, I think they'd value the input.

Thank you (and others) for the compliments.

I think that it would disappear into the massive void which is the Bioware "uninvited contacts" inbox. But feel free to post this on the Swtor forums, or make the same poll over there if you like :) (Still need to sign up myself). I do think that the "Dark-Lightside" faction swapping option should have been part of the RP options though, and "sandbox features" should have been more fleshed out (guilds participating in spaceship building, to name just one thing).

Also there is a lot of overlap between sandbox features - open space content - rp options and territory control. They are all part of the same bag of fun to a large extent. And it is clear that is that bag of fun Bioware needs to tap into if they want to shake of the chains of cookie cutter themepark content, appeal to a wider audience as well as ensure a long lasting endgame (due to sandbox features adding "player made content" which never runs out).

I am not a disgruntled sandbox fan though and didn't even play SWG (though I played EVE for years); I played and loved themeparks as well and I am not saying that Swtor should go an entirely other direction and forfeit the USP's of the game as they are now but I do think that they have mainly been innovating in the presentation and packaging departments rather than the actualy gist of the content in gameplay and mechanics.

The game could be so amazingly rich if next to the structured and carefully choreographed storylines, it offered vast, open, player controlled gameplay aspects.
