The real reason-

I was drawn to play an MMORPG in the first place was escapism were you could find cooperative gameplay with other nerds and geeks who did not take themselves or the game too seriously.

Those types of players are now in the minority, in the extreme.  The success of these games has drawn in solo players who complain there is not enough solo content, its has also drawn in ultra competitive ego maniacs who crave attention and want more features that say "look at me, I am important"!

Now everyone has the right to play the games they pay for the way they want but I will never understand all the hate and anger I see venrted in game forums over how games should be made or played.

There is no real point to this thread I am stuck at work and just kind of venting.

I suppose the only way to actually avoid all the negativity is to stay away from forums because thats seems to be where all the angry folks end up.

Thank the gods it is almost time to go home.

Apparently there are rumours that there's a gambling MMO coming out. Similar to World of Warcraft in terms of the raids, guilds will be able to bet on killing a boss, but they are never allowed to actually fight it for free, and there will be a limit on how many times you can do it. That's how the devs will make their money. It'll be completely F2P, no subscription, no item shop, nothing. Just that if you want to raid you have to pay before killing bosses, if you win you obviously get profit, if you lose you lost your money. No one said how much it would cost etc. but it sounds pretty interesting. Won't be any cheap tactics, only the rich and hardcore will be able to fight the bosses. No solo content at end game. No casuals cawk eye asses.
