Doing Cleric Tanking through the Justicar Tree

Ok guys, Rift has won me over and im joining the world.

 

BUT! Im doing things different this time around to spice it up, ive been healing since my early DAoC days through all the MMO's ending with WoW (Who wudda thunk?).

 

Ok but i want to go and do it through the Cleric class, is this possible by doing it through the Justicar tree? Sham/Justic/Warden or Purifier. I just want to make sure i can also PvE solo, be able to excel in dungeons and group play.

 

Of course going the warrior path is a possibility but i really want to play the Cleric class, but no be a main target healer, i want to tank this time around.

Check out a Cleric build on the official forums called "Duracell". It's what you might be looking for.

Of course you can, though i wouldn't go the tank route for soloing since there are better cleric specs where you can pull like 10 mobs at once and destroy them.

Awesome, thanks for the quick responses.

One more question, how is the tank/healer population? I will be going on Deepstrike or Wolfsbane (sp?) .

I use a Just/Sham/Inq spec for my tanking. You can get 500 extra hitpoints from the Inq buff if you put 10 points into it.

Cleric tanking is easy, a little to easy. Some people have problems with it because they lack some of the utilities that wars have. Plus some have issues with getting initial aggro at first. Always remember that healers get healing aggro, what better way to trump their healing aggro with your own healing!! When you cast Mein of Leadership everything you do has increased hate, which includes AoE healing. That is basically a huge AoE taunt then.

Not sure what its like on those two servers specifically, but as a cleric I rarely have issues finding a group via the LFG tool.  I queue up healing a majority of the time.
