Slyvari & Clothes

taylor2144taylor2144 Member Posts: 64

Just wondering, I've noticed when creating a Sylvari you have leafs and similiar tree features as your sort of "leaf clothes/skin", however you can also have More normal cloth like clothes. So when playings as a Sylvari;

Do your "leaf clothes/skin" change in acording to your clothes you Equip (obtained from quests and what not) ?

OR

Do you Equip clothes over your leaf type skin/clothes ?

    this is just an armor, you can put whatever you want, but there will be few unique armors to sylvari race. your body is made of leafs and branches, but any cloths will covor em, more or less.

    That's correct. Sylvari will be able to wear normal armor, in addition to racial armor. I'd note that the game allows you to transfer the stats of one item to the skin of another, so if you prefer the leafy look, you can always just reskin new armor with the racial armor skins.

    In no way, shape, or form. Na'vi were giant blue cat people. Sylvari are plant people with obvious leaves/branches/foliage/flowers. Heck, the Sylvari don't even all look alike, or even similar. I'm curious what possible features of the race make you think Na'vi, besides the fact that they live in a big tree.

    Like plants, the Sylvari can shed those "leaf/petal clothes" so that they can fit into a human armor, for example.

    In one of the Concept Arts, there's a male and a female Sylvari (or Sylvara (plural?)) in their underwear leaves.

    where have they said that each race will have uniqe armors? I have wondered if that would be the case for a long time.

    Many times. I believe everyone starts with race-specific armor, and you can buy some other race specific armor with karma. I don't know where any of the videos or interviews that mention this are, but I know it to be the case. There will be several sets of race-specific armor, in the sense that they are themed. I don't know, however, if they are race-specific in the sense that only members of that race can wear the armor. I doubt that highly.

    WTF? No subscription fee?
