LFG with pet battles

Hi! So, I'm looking for a game where you use your pets in battle. I just got introduced to this, so I'm probably not explaining it right. I encountered this style on the website, Aywas.com. In this game you explore the world and encounter wild animals that you battle and can capture.  Some of the layout and concepts are similar to Neopets, but I think that Aywas is better. I guess this is kind of the concept in Pokemon? (I may be wrong, but that's what a friend told me.)

So, does anyone know of any free games that I can try out that have this concept? Browser or Download... idc.
