Yeah I know what you mean they say it dying without actually playing it . In the EU most servers are high or medium population in the evenings . I play both on a high and medium server and both are packed with people. In fact given people still quest and do things in the open world in Rift you actually see more people than in Warcraft which has become pretty much instanced and city-centric . Theres easily as much and probably more to do at level 50 as thier was in vanilla Warcraft . At present the game if anything player numbers seam to be on the rise but I do think the comeing of StarWars could hit it quite badly but I also think it'll be a lot worse in Warcraft with millions leaving .

Indeed, if you look at rift status, set it to population trend, then a 3 or 6 month period the trend on most servers shows the population is still going up although slowly. RiFT is not dying despite what people suggest, the test is going to be a few months after SWTOR if people that leave will go back.

Very few call it terrible.  Most people seem to really like Trion even if they dont like Rift and perhaps want Trion to realize, and learn from, their glaring mistakes.

What people are tired of seeing is fluff article after fluff article on this site, with no acknowledgement of the game (and Trion's) issues, for a game that *is* trending downward in subs since its launch.  And Rift is being pushed down peoples throats.  When you get inundated with article after article and celebrate things like 7 month anniverseries it gets a bit old.

    This.

It's pretty much clear by now where MMORPG.COM is standing, which is "serving our friends in the industry first, our readers second". Their recent coverage regarding Rift has nowhere been near neutral anymore, but misleading the reader effecting false impressions.

1 to 2 articles every day(!) constantly portraying the game and it's status in a most flawless condition, in denial of any of the criticism which is often following in pages of comments. No negligibility about Rift is small enough to not get it's own "feature" on this site, yet none of the many major flaws huge enough to ever get remotely acknowledged.

I understand that you want to make Trion a happy customer having their add-money well spent. I also understand that with expanding to RTS and FPS you aim to step into the bigger business.

MMORPG.Com has always been more or less slightly biased, as long as i'm a visitor with by now several accounts. But this site has developed a blatant tendency to only display products in a way that is the most beneficial for the industry (and in return for mmorpg.com's business). Also see the infamous "Free to play" column or recent "(re-)reviews". Similar can be seen on the affiliate FPS/RTS pages btw.
