They're pretty spiffy to sit on your desk, and collectors, who buy the collector's editions, enjoy having something to display.  Ex., I still have my Firiona Vie figure from the Planes of Power expansion, and she's in brand new condition.

I'm not really interested in the statue either, but I can see why many people would be.  Being a reader and lover of classical music it's the Journal and CD that interested me.  Everything else is just icing on the cake.

They wanted to outdo SOE with their $100 CE DCUO.

Think they'll want to outdo SOE by going F2P faster than 10 months?

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Agreed, those are pretty good extras to look forward to, too.  I'm wondering if the journal will expand on the timeline, since it's stopped (for now) on the website.

The soundtrack will be great, too, and there's something to be said about having the CD.  I was enjoying some SW music earlier (I love that Binary Sunset piece).  I do expect the soundtrack to be on torrent sites the day that the CE touches doorsteps, though.

To be honest, I wish that the statue wasn't of such an ugly character.  I get that he's the big bad evil guy, but I think that Satele Shan, Vette (everyone loves the Twi'leks), Jewl'a (looks pretty bad @$%), or Darth Jadus (evil tough guy without being so darn ugly) would be better picks.  Come to think of it, they don't have many cool looking guys in their current list of public biographies. XD

You might be right, but you are overlooking one very important factor, like most SOE products, DCUO was released with no content and a whole lot of bugs.  That is Standard Operating Procedure for almost every SOE game.  So SOE had to go F2P in order to get ANY lasting cash out of their product.  All accounts from people who have played SWTOR, even the very few that didn't care for it, say how big the game is.  Not just in terms of actual size, but content as well.  So F2P for SWTOR in under 10 months is pretty unlikely.  Maybe in a couple years and probably within the next five years, but not in the next year.  Sorry.

personally i would have liked it if it had been this one that they had sold for a limited time

its Shae Vizla, the bounty hunter from the Decieved Trailer(and mostly recently seen in the Signs of War trailer a couple weeks ago)

Haven't read the entire thread, but I'll just say this anyway. The CE box has a different image on each side. One has a Bounty Hunter, another has a Jedi, another has a Sith, and I can't seem to recall what the last one has. I would guess a trooper.

I have already the shae vizsla statue and i can say it's pretty awesome and im not paying a monthly fee to keep her lol.Although i dont know if ill be playing the game.Im tired of all these subscription fees etc.I prefere buy to play and pay for expansions.Furthermore the pay to play style shortly dies because it's ridiculous to pay for a game you already own.If u take a look at league of legends the game is full free and it has the biggest success i ve seen so far only because it's free for all.

On the other hand even if like starwars alot i dont want to be bound by some kind of subscription fee.I want the game to be b2p and be able to play whatever time i want without going to the bank to add some cash just because i had the feeling to play that game again. You see it's not only the money but the whole procces as well.Besides my style it's not playing a game nonstop for 6 or 3 months.I may play a game for one month or week then let it and play it again after weeks and sometimes after months simply because i have a life and i want to keep it on a lvl that keeps me satisfied.

I may cancel my preorder and buy Diablo 3 ce simply because it's b2p and because it's diablo ;)

nah, no company could ever top SOE in the fail department, except maybe cryptic. But don't worry, bioware will top SOE by releasing a fun and polished Star Wars MMORPG that many will want to play. ;)

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

Oh, man.  I missed that, but I agree.  That would have been great to get with the CE. :)  I see from their website that they have a mini-bust still available.

I just wanted to mention that they don't take the collector's edition stuff away fi you cancel, so we won't be paying a monthly fee to keep the CE figure or other bits. ^_~  The price of the CE is very nearly the price of the company's figures, so another way to look at it is that you're buying the figure and they're tossing in some extra stuff along with it, like the game, art book, so forth.

Get it while it lasts!  Limited quantity of pre-orders available! hehe....

Reminds me of some basketball cards I collected in high school...Was the set everyone wanted, because they promised to only do 3 runs....Well 3 turned into like 12...The cards weren't worth the cardboard they were printed on, after that.

I am going to be playing, I just have always and still do find this notion that you need to hurry up and buy, because you may be left out in the cold heh....Left out in the cold until the new box art comes...If these all sell, we will see a new box, and so on...They have enough money to open 1,000 servers, if they are selling enough games....They aren't going to turn people's money away....You can make a case for a smaller company needing to limit, but not one I buy on a big company...Little rant....False supply manipulation has always bothered me.

Like I said, I am going to be playing, not the CE though, probably just the digital deluxe...or normal...Have to look again, but it is nice to have a mount early, if its hard to scrape together for one otherwise.

Totally agree this one looks really much better than the plastic doll we're getting.

    Too bad.
