Is there still a trial?

Wife bought the game when it was released but never had a chance to really try it myself. Don't want to resub quite yet, just wondering if they are still offering a trial.. I know it's going free to play soon and if it's something I'd be interested in I'd like to try it out and possibly sub before the wave of kiddies looking for a new game to annoy people in hit.

I looked all over their website but couldn't find anything about a limited trial. Any information or link would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No trial per se, but if you go to the first sticky here on the STO board "Post Trial Invites or Buddy Keys Here" you'll find a bunch of key codes other players have posted.  I think you get to play for 7 days, not real sure. 

Just start with the last post and play copy and paste until you find one that works.  I found 2 that way, one for me and the other for my younger son.
