Did Blizzard just admit that they did not implement ANY new tradeskill content for MOP?

I just read the transcript for the panel that supposedly included tradeskills information and I far as I can tell, there is not one single new tradeskill feature announced for the next Xpac.

In addition, the tradeskill questions about Engineering and Jewelcrafting were dimissed with "no plans" answers.

Pathetic.

You must RAID, RAID, RAID...and when you aren't raiding you can dance around as a fat farking racoon faced teddy bear.

I am not playing WoW currently because of the absence of any meaningful tradeskill content.

I had hopes that Blizzard would finally add some depth to the tradeskills or even a player/guild housing system.

I thought with the threat of losing market share to TOR, they would want to add content to attract a more diverse playerbase.

    I was very wrong.

not just wrong, but deluded to the type of content and play that WoW offers, it's never been about players wanting housing or about tradeskills, heck the tradeskills in WoW are merely a means to an end, I doubt you'll ever see them be anymore than they are.

The only game I can think of, off the top of my head, that has a half decent craft system is EQ2

And I'd be wary about posting about a game you no longer play opinions are great but if it has no real relevence to you, your just chewing over old leather, time to get some fresh air!

So, I should just be comfortable with mediocrity? Also, in case you werent paying attention, Blizzard has a history of adding new tradeskill content with expacs....Jewelcrafting, Inscription, Archaeology. I am wrong to expect new content with this xpac?

I am currently playing EQ2, however, the engine is crap and the population is dying, so I was hoping to be able to re-sub to WoW if some new features were added.

I bet the marketing people at Blizzard would beg to differ. I am the exact audience they are trying to lure BACK TO THEIR GAME....me deciding whether or not to re-sub is the definition of relevence!!

Well, your first mistake was thinking Blizzard would add depth to well, anything.

WOWhead has some transcripts w profession info (but its limited)

    http://www.wowheadnews.com/blog=196428/blizzcon-2011-class-balance-professions-and-more-in-mists-of-pandaria

Q: Will enchanters be able to maybe make new epic wands in 5.0?

    A: Definitely.

Q: Will leatherworking be able to make quivers for cosmetics?

A: We're thinking of it just being a cosmetic reward for transmog. We kind of want to add those to all classes, like tomes for paladins and cool things for all classes that are visual add-ons to current gear.

Q: Will there be any craftable mounts in Mists of Pandaria? Will you be able to attack on your mount ever?

A: We have an exciting idea for craftable mounts. Maybe jewelcrafting...................... maybe. I can't divulge. And no to attacking on your mount.

maybe they arent really discussing it at blizzcon but every expansion brings new tradeskills

    Sadly, you are correct.

They've annouced what the expansion will broadly be covering (including saying they might be doing something with cooking, for panda's) As to being comfortable with mediocrity, what do you think WoW is built on, it's why it's so accessible to so many people, it's not a hugely challenging game, it's just fun to play.

The only game I can think of, off the top of my head, that has a half decent craft system is EQ2

I am currently playing EQ2, however, the engine is crap and the population is dying, so I was hoping to be able to re-sub to WoW if some new features were added.

EQ2 has a pretty good gfx engine, and considering it's never needed to have it's gfx system updated speaks for itself,  as to the population, yeah it's dying, and has been for sometime, shame as it's an awsome game.

And I'd be wary about posting about a game you no longer play opinions are great but if it has no real relevence to you, your just chewing over old leather, time to get some fresh air!

I've never seen Blizzard doing much to get ex players back, other than scrolls of ressurection, so I'm guessing that the marketing poeple AREN'T trying to lure you back to the game, if they were you'd see the kind of marketing that you get with EQ2 trying to get older players back into the game. I guess they want new players more, who will have bucket loads of content to play through and so stay subbed for a few months.

Lol the thought just crossed me when I read this... making a drinking game of tradeskills, take a sip everytime an item is made successfully.

It's not just Blizzard though.  That's the really sad part, at least IMHO.
